Commercialization of Star Wars

So many commercials and tie ins with Star Wars is really putting me off on the franchise...nothing special about it any more.

and here i thought it was the complete lack of plot in the latest movie that was doing it, but thinking about it, it's probably nissan rogues.

It's nothing new...Star Wars has been commercialized since the first movie...but the tv commercials thing is newer...since the LAST movie IIRC.

Yep. Any child growing up in the late 70's and early 80's who did NOT have a collection of Star Wars action figures, space ships, and play sets was ostracized from society..

(Not really, but the commercialism was definitely there with the original movies.)
