I'm not sure what "minor damage reported" means in CARFAX terms, but I don't think a collision with a deer is very "minor." If it was just bumper damage though...I guess you should be fine.

My dad once grazed a deer in his Saturn. He said it was jumping and one of the hoofs hit the top of the windshield. No damage and the deer just kept going.
I once backed into a car behind me and dented in their door (had to pay them $1000 for it), and my car was fine, no damage.
Everyone has minor dings, especially living in the city. Parallel parking can be like bumper cars; people don't know how to drive. You get dinged alot in parking lots as well.
