well my compusa closes the 28th so theres 3 days left and most of the stuff is 50-60%.... any chances they will go over 80% the last day? or will they just keep all the stuff they have.... at least on mine theres still plenty of stuff to get im waiting for price drops on 2 gb Kingston ddr2 1066 its aa 50% but i compared prices to newegg and its $30 cheaper on newegg ($110 on compusa with 50% $80 newegg with no discounts) just WOW. They still have like 12 packs of them.... so im hoping they go alot lower

Start to finish, in FRESNO, CA they haven't had dookie! They have a few more days left and it is either cheap crap or still overpriced.

Ad in today's Huntsville AL paper:

Last 4 days
Thursday 2/28 50-70% off
Friday 2/29 60-80% off
Saturday 3/01 70-90% off
Sunday 3/02 80-90% off

I was there today. Still some notebook hard drives, wireless cards, monster cables, and a few external hard drives. And some overpriced memory.

I might pick up a notebook hard drive tomorrow if they don't all disappear tonight.

well i went to the one in emeryville..

i saw a few hot deals. the good stuff left now isnt the retail goods. its the office computers. they mark them as fixtures. now you still dont know if they work or not, but you would think the machines they were using for like displays and such and the back office would work.

i know there was a celeron machine for like $60 at mine. and a dual core pentium d 925 machine was $160 ( they are made by systemmax and had 2 or 3, it ran a q965 board, a pentium d 925 , 1 ddr2 dimm, 80 gb drive and a dvd drive) which is not bad. that board can even support core 2.

i acutally walked out with 2 laptops for $30 each. not 100% sure they work becuase of no ac adapters, but i'm assuming they are at least partially functional since they were employee equipment. one laptop was an HP p3 1.13 with 512mb pc133 and a 30gb drive, 15" and dvd/cdrw , the other a toshiba celeron 1.8 , 15" screen , 40gb pata drive and dvd/cdrw.

i figure at worst, the batteries and hard drives and ram alone are worth $60+tax

Same thing. Picked up the same PSU as you for $75. Also grabbed a 12cm high CFM aero cool fan for $5 and a X-Fi extreme gamer for $40.

The CompUSA in Brandon, FL reopened earlier this week and I must say, excellent prices (many as good if not better than Newegg, albeit with a smaller selection)

Well, I picked up yesterday the last of the Cooler Master 850 watt Real Power Pro's they had for about $40 each. These are the ones made by Enhance and are awsome from reviewers such as jonnyguru. Since today is the last day for all Compusa's, going to run aroudn like a chicken with my head cut off looking for what I can snag.

Does anyone know what time they open today? They opening early or doing the normal noon opening time?

I can't believe this is still going on. I might check out the local store just to laugh at it since I'm going by it anyway but don't expect to find anything.

I managed to pickup Vista ultimate upgrade for $130.00 a couple of weeks ago here the in central Florida compusa. I find it kind of funny that I was there to get in on their grand opening sales in the mid ninety's and now I'm also taking advantage of their going out business sales, it also makes me feel my age. O well that's better than the alternative, now I just have to decide what to do with my copy Vista home premium.

I was in the area so just drove back by the compusa here to see if they had closed up shop this weekend as expected, and sure enough they have but here is the kicker, the sign on the door said closed for remodeling reopening March 24. What it didn't say was reopening as what?

Anyone heard anything? I just drove past I didn't get out and walk up to the door to read the sign so I may have missed something.

i just checked the compusa in nyc at 57th/bway and it had a sign on the door saying they were closed and there was nothing left.

i might check the 37th/5th store later today just to confirm they were closed or see if they had anything left.

I'm sure there was nothing left at the store here, it was almost empty a couple of weeks ago when I picked up Vista ultimate. If they are reopening their going to have to completely restock. which is why I'm wondering reopen as what? Maybe some good grand opening sales?

Tiger direct bought out the CompUSA bradn name. However, Direct Direct didn't have enough money to fully stock and furnish all the stores Compusa as a company had before under Carlos Slim. Basically, The Gormin Group bought Compusa as a liquidation, and Tiger Direct bought it from them. So the stores that are going to reopen will have the Compusa name but technically won't be Compusa's.
