My computer was working fine, then i left it turned off and unplugged for a couple of weeks. Now if i plug it in and push the button all the fans spin a couple of times then stop, if i push the button again nothing happens. Once i flip the switch on the power supply i can get the fans to spin a couple times again, but that is it.
So did my power supply go bad or my mother board?
I will borrow a powersupply on monday to test with, but I was wondering if anybody had any ideas i could try today.

Thanks

Yeah usually that's PSU or Mobo there. Could try reseating your CPU, memory and expansion cards though. But those are probably not the problem.

Check to make sure the connection between your PSU and the "On" button is working? I had an old P4 machine that had a bum power button, had to hold it down for about 10 minutes to get it to boot up. Once it booted, it ran fine.

humm.. w/o haveing another PSU to test it will be hard....
Probably will just have to wait till you can test it with a new PSU... see if it still works... if that doesn't solve the problem the mobo must have gone.

Though if you have had this in storage or moveing around a lot while you weren't useing it... make sure everything is seated well... take the ram out put it back in... take the pci stuff out and put it back in... just double check all connection are snug

Try testing just your PSU
if you have a stanard 20pin connection... short Pin 14 to any black ground...
DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU AREN"T SURE WHAT YOU ARE DOING>> YOU COULD DIE lol

but un plus the PSU from everything in your case.. and unplug the PSU from the wall
use a paperclip to make the short and then plug the PSU into the wall... and see if it comes on..
