Sweet, I loved this game back when it came out, though I felt like relic totally broke the game when the expansions came out. I always thought they should have done an expansion with the eastern front, but a 2nd game is even better.

Indeed. It had absolutely nothing on CoH, DoW 1 was better IMO.

DOW2 was almost exactly like COH I thought, minus the fact that territories didn't matter and you couldn't keep strategic zones as a cutoff.

That and it was horribly unbalanced so I stopped playing like a week into the multiplayer. COH I played on and off for about 2-3 years.

oh thank you thank you. I was feeling so lost without any good RTS to play. Starcraft 2 has been played to death and I am not into multiplayer much.

CoH had great graphics at the time but I never really got into it. It required way too much micromanagement compared to DoW.

Seriously though, I like the setting. Even though wish they would have done Africa instead. But I actually do wonder if featuring two genocidal totalitarian regimes might alienate some people..

Theres always the expansion, CoH 2: African front :thumbsup:

A lot of people have been wanting an eastern front expansion or game for some time so it just makes sense.

I couldn't have been the only person that was upset when COHO was canned, the ideas that they came up with in that game were very good--and the game was obviously great already. Totally stoked about company of heroes 2.

I loved CoH so damn much. I've replayed it probably 5 times since it came out and I've never touched the multiplayer. Definitely looking forward to this.

lol, I literally just finished DoWII Chaos Rising and really liked it. Didn't feel dumbed down at all. Moving on to Retribution, then Space Marines.

Ret campaign(s) is kind of bland. I really hope they don't do DoW style campaigns for COH2, even if it's as good as the CR one was. It just has more impact in the WW2 setting to actually control forces on missions and make a push like they did in the original. TOV was a fun diversion, but I don't want to see that for COH2.

awesome, looking forward to it. The first one was a classic and taking cover was something almost unheard of in RTSs. Hope this one is as groundbreaking.

There's still a decent CoH community out there; check out "KrebsCOHO"'s YouTube channel for a ton of good replays/matches with commentary. I just heard about Company of Heroes 2 from said channel and wow, this is seriously awesome news!

Played the first last night, not much different than Chaos, but it's cool to be able to choose a different race than the Space Marines. Now, based on the limited distribution of points, Ret is dumbed down from Chaos, but still was fun.

About time. After CoHO was switched off I was waiting for the next CoH game.

Since this is Eastern front, I hope the next game is the Pacific.

Hopefully COH2 isn't a Frankenstein of COHO pieced together; salvaging the wreckage.

I don't expect this to happen though, Relic have always seemed to be a solid developer.
