It should have the Radeon IGP 320 chipset. The graphics memory size should be able to be set in the BIOS up to 128MB depending on the total amount of system memory.

I bought the 905US last month from CC. When I went to checkout, they had pricematched BB and then tookoff some more...still havent figured out what they did exactly....but after rebates the total is 650. Pretty good deal IMO.

The only difference I see is the 906 comes with CD burner.

Im happy with 905us. Its my first laptop and my wife and I use it for webserving, reports, and gaming. It works well for the money.

I think battery life could be better. Seems Im always plugging it in to charge. When gaming it lasts 45min - 1 hr or so. There was a thread on the 905us a few weeks ago...might search for it....has some other points.

L=$200 rebate on all laptops]http://www.bestbuy.com/ComputersPeripherals/index.asp?m=488[/L]

These 906'swent fast at BestBuy...grabbed one then though, why don't I price match at Circuit City.

So I did...manager gave me an instant $200 off ($849 + tax) out the door, plus now only 1 ($100) Compaq rebate to deal with.
Circuit City also had a 12 months, no-interest financing for notebooks, so I did that to. Overall benefit: 1 less rebate, less money to finance, and saved a few bucks on tax w/200 off.

holy crapola. check this out ppl...

my dad wanted this laptop, so we went to BB. salesguy sayd he doubts tey have any in stock (sold out), so he directs me to the dude at the counter to ask for inventory. that guys says he knows it's out of stock, so i ask him to check other stores within reasonable driving distance. so he tells me that most stores have between 2-4 in stock as of the night before (their inventory gets updated each night). so i leave BB with my parents. now... if u look in the CC flyer, CC has the same laptop for $949. the $200 difference is becuz unlike BB... CC does not have a $200 store mir. to my knowledge... CC does do price matcing, but tey do not price match rebates. i felt it was a long shot, but since there was a CC right across the street from BB... i figure i might as well go ahead and ask. i went into CC and grabbed a sales dude and asked them if they have the laptop in stock... he said they had 10. next i asked him could they pm BB, who has it for $750. he was kinda surprised when i told him the price... but he checked the BB flyer and asked his manager. his manager walked over to the terminal... typed typed typed... then the salesguy comes back and says "yes we can pm it. but sincee our store does not have a $200 mir, we will take off $200 instantly." i was really quite surprised. so anyway... moral of the story is the laptop was $850 + tax out the door, with an additional $100 mir from compaq. i thought this was a pretty good deal for a BM store.

EDIT - damn someone beat me to the CC pm experience

Does it come with the WinXP cdrom? My first act upon getting this machine would be to repartition the disk, which is a little less interesting if the fruit of the MS tax gets lost in the process.

Do you think it's possible to get this from CC and also get the MSN wallet thing? So it would be down to 650?

It depends if CircuitCity.com will pricematch another website...BestBuy.com is no longer taking orders for the 906 on their site.

Don't forget...additional $50 rebate if you purchase a USB floppy drive from hpshopping.com...think of it as $50 certificate for a free drive....
so now the price is around $700....if you use some creative accounting

I have 1 still in a sealed box, debating if I should keep it. For those who have used it, what do you think?

I got one yesterday and it works fine so far. I thing I noticed looking at the Device Manager, the one I bought comes with an IBM Travelstar 40GN HDD. Same specs apparently as the one in the store but that one had a Fujitsu (I believe) and seemed a bit faster, even after I defragmented this one with Norton Speed Disk. YMMV.

DrBart: It comes with a couple recovery disc and one OS disc. I don't know if the OS can be installed separately (don't have the disc with me to look at it sorry)

Tonix: How is it possible to get the USB floppy for free before rebate? I ordered the drive from hpshopping.com but it cost $50 + $5 ship.

No you did right. AFAIK the best you can get the USB floppy for is for shipping and perhaps tax (after rebate of course).

This deal is even hotter for those that got it at Circuit City with the $200 automatic price adjustment....Earlier this week, a $200 Circuit City Rebate that requires a copy of the UPC appeared at CircuitCity.com ....this could knock down the price to $549! For what it's worth, I asked the store manager if I could use any rebates that appear on their website, even after I purchased from the BM store, he said sure. Hope he's right, and it get's honored.
