Compaq iPAQ PPC 2002 Update

I have the update and it took 5 minutes to reset itself. After that, I really didn't see anything different. Probably because I don't use much that the improvements affected.

My AT Hot Deals Radio Shack ipaq 3635 ($142 AR and Amex Blue PM) is great fun. Works well with Symbol CF wireless lan card through Linksys AP/Router.

i got my 3765 for 400...PMd with best buy cause i wanted their warrenty. PM with target for 449 then send in 50 dollar compaq rebate

YOU CANNOT buy from target cause the rebate on my best buy recipt directly says rebate not valid for purchase from target, costso and wholesale, and refurb models....

I updated my 3635 about a month ago. It is noticeably slower. I used it with 256 external Compact Flash and leave the main memories for program and storage for about 5 MB. each, respectively. It looks much nicer and easier to operate; still the speed is my problem. I couldn't get it to work as it used to with older OS. For certain program like Media Player, reader, they are working well. Be careful, if you have only 16 MB Rom like mine and installed too many things on main memory.

do you make sure to use the qmenu and shutdown all tasks? after a while some apps dont get closed and suck up ram

I don't think PPC2002 update comes with QMenu. But then again, I'm a warez monkey, so I have no idea what's included on the real Compaq PPC2002 upgrade CD.

He's just yanking your chain... there's no deal to get a current model (3600 or 3700) Ipaq for under $300. As someone else pointed out there have been promotionals IF you fit a very special criteria (i.e., being an engineering student, working for a certain company, etc)... even then those deals usually don't go THAT far below retail.

Some people just like to get attention by making claims like this... there was a guy who was bragging about getting a Sony DSC-F707 Cybershot Digicam (retails for $999) for $599 at Sears... people didn't believe him so he ended up posting a receipt... when I went in to see if another Sears would PM it, they called the original store and found out that they did that price for him under special circumstances

For all I know he faked getting hurt in the store and then they gave him the deal for not suing sears.
