Hey guys,
I know everyone is getting tired of these OD posts, but after seeing the amount of attention that everyone was giving the HP Notebook at Walmart, I figured a few of us could benefit from this deal. I was in my local OD today and saw a Compaq notebook with a Celeron 566, 64 megs of Pc100, 6 gb HD, 8X DVD, and a 56K modem for $719!!!! I dont remember the sku number, and I cant seem to find any info about laptops period on their website. If anyone is interested, my local store had 3 in stock, and I can get the model numbers.

EDIT #2: Ok guys, sorry for that little mix up..It seems I was given the wrong SKU number..I called back and spoke with the manager, and the CORRECT SKU# is 470-311. It is a 1400 series Presario, but isnt listed on the website, unless you choose to configure it yourself...There are 2 OD's within 20 minutes of my house, so I will check the second one tomorrow and see if they have any in stock..Almost forgot, the model # is 14XL-244.

Josh, please provide the SKU # (6 digit) from office depot. This appears to be a good deal.. Is it a TFT screen or HPA?

I called my local OD and they checked several different departments of OD and that SKU doesn't turn up a product. If you bought one of these laptops, could you read what the SKU # or the item # is off of the receipt and post it here please? Thanks!

edit: Thanks for the update

He's right. A woman in front of me at lunch grabbed the last one in Wichita today. Seemed like a great deal. They had it marked at $1400 on Sunday.

So if I am looking for a laptop, is this thing really worth the $720? How much of a visual difference is there between an HPA and a TFT screen? I need opinions people!

TFT screens look considerably better than HPA. If I were you, I would camp out on the Walmart.com website for the HP. It seems to be a better machine.....

:frown:
HPA display
External floppy drive
24X CD-ROM drive, NOT DVD
Saw it last night at my local OD
Still a great price though.
But I bought the HP N5125 at Walmart

Office Depot and b&m stands for brick and mortar, or, an actual store vs. a website.
