We are upgrading all the pc's here at work. It will be a mixture of desktops and laptops (w/docking station). The price we were quoted from our IT department was for compaq's. we checked online, just for the heck of it, at dells website and priced out a laptop with much better specs. (850 P3 instead of P3 700, 256RAM instead of 128, etc.). To our surprise the Dell's were actually cheaper than the compaq's. One of the "higher-ups" wants us to get any reviews pertaining to compaqs/dells and get it to him ASAP. Even stuff comparing each company's tech support will be considered. I am getting ready to check the main sites like pcworld and such.
Anybody have any handy links or other helpful info?
I appreciate any info you give me. Opinions aren't really helpful to the people we have to turn this stuff in to.
LAstly, I know there are some people out there who may like Compaqs. We currently have them here at work and I personally do not like them. Nothing but trouble. The Dells (if we get them) may do the same but at least we will have better tech supp than compaq. So I am not trying to bash compaqs!
