Comparing two routers

Other than bandwidth testing, is there a way to test or compare processing speed between two routers?
Old router is the Netgear x6 AC3200.
I was trying the new Linksys Max-Stream AC5400 with a better processor.
So far the Linksys seems the better router. Pages load faster and streaming Dish Network remotely is nearly flawless.
With the Netgear, which is a nice router too, streaming Dish was iffy at best.
And pages loaded slower on the Netgear.
I was curious if higher processing speed was making the difference or ?

The new Linksys has a 1.4 GHz processor. The older Netgear has a 1GHz dual core processor.
The new AC5400 from Linksys definitely has better performance, but I wonder if the processor is making all the difference, or maybe other features on the Linksys?

If you can get bootloader output (maybe wire in a console cable?), then you can see how many Linux "BogoMIPS" each router scores.

I doubt that the changes are a result of the Spec differences between the Routers.

It sounds more like a "crappy" Netgear Unit.

Did I mention the Linksys is actually Belkin?

You know the one that sells CAT6 cables to the Network ignorants for about 60 times more expensive than its average market value.

That said the all point is that the objective Technical specs of the Wireless Routers components is not a dominant variables in the functional Performance of the devices.

I'd wager it has to do more with Netgears being garbage.

My netgear r8000 was junk so I would say that the Linksys is the superior unit and be happy that you've got it.
