Nomans I appreciate your thoughts!! My card looked new as well. The packaging looked new, the card was in a anti static bag with a unbroken seal and the manual looked brand new. Hopefully the replacement will work out OK.

I do feel sorry for Ambrosius01 and Falconx80 that they got something DOA instead of a working MSI GF4 Ti4600. Everybody who has ordered this "Refurbed" card know the risk they're running into, and IT IS EXTREMELY RISKY because of the nature of the "Refurbed", i.e you ARE MORE LIKELY TO GET some crap that is sold as a video card. But for the people who has ordered this card and still waiting, keep praying, may be you'll get lucky as I do. I've ordered and got a BRAND NEW MSI GF4 Ti4600 instead of a refurbed one. May be it is still a refurbed one but the package does NOT looked "refurbed" to me at all (the retail box looked new to me, the anti-static bag looked new to me and the card also looked new to me, at least I think I could distinguish a brand new and a "refurbed" card based on the condition of the discrete components of the card). Anyhow, in my case, just plug it in and it works like a champ. Like somebody's saying it looks like a MSI GF4 Ti4600, it runs like a MSI GF4 Ti4600, it IS a MSI GF4 Ti4600. The only question I have is HOW LONG WOULD IT RUN?

the card looked new from the outside (unbroken antistatic bag)
but once i opened it, it seems like this card was used before but it still looked new. alas, the card has problems displaying imagines.

Normas thanks for your post, hopefully the replacement will yield better results.

It seems like people aren't having a high success rate with these refurbs but they dropped the price to $122.50 (no coupon necessary) now if anyone wants to take a chance. I think someone else posted this yesterday but they have a refurbed 4400 for $99.99. And it seems they have the Radeon 7500 (NEW) for 39.99 back again as well.

There is a 10% coupon floating around the web, get the 4600 for $110 + shipping

I didn't think that they let you use that with their "specials". I could be wrong of course. It would be a really good deal at $110 if you got one that worked.

As for the differences between the 4400 and the 4600, see the AT article from a year or two ago;

AT article

Benchies come a little later in the article.

Hope that helps.

the discount coupon codes don't work for the geek specials. Also It looks like its dropped to $122.50
good price, they are usually a bit slow to ship, and shipping is expensive, however I have ordered from them many times with never any problems.

Let me add another warning on ComputerGeeks. Placed an order for the refurbed ti4600. They have a link for tracking shipment. Its a spoof of a FedEx site, hosted on Computer Geeks site showing the package has been picked up for delivery from Computer Geeks. The fed ex number does not exist ... yet.

Bet Fed Ex would love to see this.

pick an order number W123xxxx they all say the same thing: Just Departed Computer Geeks Warehouse

I guess I'd just hate to see anyone here spend 150 bucks just to enjoy it for a 3-6 months while prices for better cards come down to the same price as this one.

welcome to teh technology age.

better cards will always be coming out and rite now in an ATI vs Nvidia war this will continue. So either u suck it up and buy this card or you wait for 10 years for one of the companies to go bankrupt

Can someone help me out? I got one of these cards today. The User's Guide says that the G4Ti4600-TD has a Ti4400 GPU! Only the G4Ti4600-VTD has the Ti4600 GPU. The differences between the TD and VTD is the TV-Out connector and the GPU.

Has anyone confirmed that they have the Ti4600 GPU on their card?

Thanks,
Fullhouz

i think this deal kinda sucks. over here at our local fry's in austin, tx you can pick up the oem asus version of the ti4200 and overclock it easily past 4600 speeds. i got mine to 333/660 with stock cooling. and i paid 83 dollars for it after rebate. i think the rebate is expired now, but they still go for about 120, cheaper than the price of this card. the ram it comes with is 3.3 ns i believe.
