Hey Anandtechers,
I have a Shuttle AN35 Ultra and XP2200+ with 512 DDR Pc2700 ram and GF4 Ti4600 vid card.

It was acting wierd and would only boot into safe mode, so I cleared the CMOS. After I did that, it now only beeps long beeps after startup (repeated beeps). It will not show video. It will not post. Anything anyone can suggest?

A) Do you have both 12v plugs from the psu plugged into the motherboard (the 20-pin ATX cable and the 4-pin 12v-only cable) B) Try taking the motherboard out, and reinstalling it. That sounds alot like what happens when you have the motherboard accidentally grounded (make sure the only standoffs that are installed are ones that have an accompanying hole in the motherboard)

No dice. Reinstalled mobo (making sure the spacers were correct). I turn it on, and it just *beeps*. One long beep. Pause. One long beep. Pause. etc etc etc. I swapped out vid card, psu and reseated the memory. Any suggestions?

Check jumper settings on the board, make sure if you changed any recently that you didn's power up at a bad time and fry something.

you swapped out the power supply (psu?) or the cpu. I think your CPU is fried dude. That is the beep code for a fried CPU and I know because I fried one of mine 2 weeks ago.

are you sure you put the jumper back in the right place after you took it out to clear the CMOS, or did you clear the CMOS out from inside the Bios?

Go to the manufacturer's website and look up the beep codes on their website... if they are not there then look them up with google.

Gsaldivar, thankyou, i looked through that just as you posted without any help, due to the fact that its just a repeated beep, pause, beep, pause, beep pause. No pattern

I wish the available AWARD bios beep codes would tell me what my problem is. Some say bad mem with possibility of bad mobo. I dont have the money to go around spending on parts that MIGHT be bad.....

Do you have any spare parts (Video card, RAM, PSU) you pull from another computer and test in the computer you're having problems with?

Beg/borrow, or buy/return if absolutely necessary... But if you're building computers on a regular basis, you should really keep some spares around for this purpose. Trying to troubleshoot a hardware problem without spare parts is like trying to fix a car without tools...

Ok. Somehow i got it to post. I moved memory from bank 1 to bank 3, then back to bank 1. It turns on once and goes to the Memory check/mhz speed screen and i got into the bios (phoenix AWARD 6.0) once. Any subsequent boots will give me nothing. What does this indicate?

I've gotten that before when I improperly seated the memory. Could be a bad slot also. Since you can post, try memtest to see if the memory's bad.
