Found these two new BOINC projects:

WEP-M+2 Project (Sounds like Maths)

IMP@Home (Sounds like ... Dungeon Keeper  )

No idea what they are about; there's no info yet.

EDIT: I founded the TeAm for WEP-M+2. Can't do it for IMP@Home, as the account creation is closed at the moment.

Another one:

Distributed Rainbow Table Generator

Looks like a math/code project. According to Wiki: A rainbow table is a lookup table offering a time-memory tradeoff used in recovering the plaintext password from a password hash generated by a hash function, often a cryptographic hash function. A common application is to make attacks against hashed passwords feasible.

EDIT: TeAm Anandtech is founded for DRTG

Attention, I read on Boincstats that it is a hacker project!!
They try to find passwords and then give (sell?) them to hackers. That's also the reason why boincstats doesn't include them into their stats!!!

Here's another new project, more like a fun project:

Belgian Beer@Home (the site may not be online 24/7)

Well, after reading quite a lot about the project, I'm not sure if it really is hacker project. If yes, then Hashclash is one as well. They don't make a secret out of wha they do. The Rainbow Tables are free for all to download and they do not sell them to their affiliate sites. But to be honest, I don't trust that project. The results of our work can be used for good purposes (testing a system security) or bad purpses (breaking a systems security). And the research lab they claim to work for and which is also in their title, is a fake one, as far as I can tell. I could not find any info about it on the net.

I guess it's up to each member - as always - to decide wether or not to crunch for those guys.

Thx for the heads up Tom!

I added WEP-M+2 Project, IMP@Home, Distributed Rainbow Table Generator, and Belgian Beer@Home to the list. I'll add more info for these projects when it is available.

Orbit@Home update:

They appear to be getting ready to launch Beta. Site is up.... account creation disabled currently:

Account Creation is Disabled

Sorry, this project has disabled the creation of new accounts. We plan to enable again account creation during the beta testing, probably in early 2006. Thank you for your interest in supporting orbit@home, we hope you will join us then.

Where do you gather that info from?

They're still waiting for some kind of funding; they only recently changed their network config - the last news before that one is one year old; the forums are pretty dead when it comes to official posts by devs/admins; ...

Orbit@Home is as dead as it used to be, from what I see.

ABC@Home just launched live. This is separate from the Beta and Alpha. Here is an email I received:

Dear participants,

As some of you may already know, the past few
days we've been working on the stable project.
Thanks to the enormous efforts of you, our testers, everything is running up to a level
where we are satisfied to go live with.

Account creation will be opened by now for everyone.
Please invite all your friends, family and maybe even your pets to calculate along!

There are now two projects from ABC@home, one called stable, to be found on
http://abcathome.com
, and one called beta, to be found on http://abcathome.com/beta.
Since you got this email, you're already a participant of both beta and stable.
Beta will be a permanent testing platform.
There are three scenarios possible for you
to get work from the current ABC@home stable:

1. When the beta was established, you never detached from ABC@home alpha but got redirected
by our cgi to the beta. You should be able to get
work from ABC@home stable already.

2. When the beta was established, you detached
from alpha and reattached to beta. You can
attach to abcathome.com as a new project
and you should be able to get new work.

3. You didnt attach to anything. Then please
attach to abcathome.com as a new project.

On ABC@home stable everyone will start new
and fresh with zero credits.
Everything on beta remains,
all your built up credits, statistics, forum
posts etc.

On monday or maybe a bit later we might have an
additional surprise for you to make calculating
with ABC even more fun and interesting.
To conclude, we hope you help us along,
if you have any questions or problems you can contact us on the forums of abcathome.com.

Yours Sincerely,

the ABC@home team

NanoHive about to crank back up next Monday. Received this email:

Hello,

NanoHive@Home (NHAH) is starting another run and WUs will be submitted to the queue on Monday, January 29. This next run will be a search for failure modes on 25 published dimer tooltips (like those seen in the nanofactory animation) and should provide for a couple months of solid work. It will be more like a typical BOINC project: there will be no restriction on the number of WUs you can process, all the WUs will be queued more or less at once, so there won't be any WU brown-outs while waiting for batches to complete, and WU deadlines are approximately one week.

Plus, the client now calculates the % Complete value, so it won't confuse your WU scheduling - there's even a progress bar.

Details about the project will be added to the website over the remainder of this week. Also, small batches of WUs will be queued throughout this week that are needed for the generation of next Monday's WUs. Credit will be granted for them per usual.

Visit http://www.nanohive-1.org/atHome/getting_started.php to learn about System Requirements, Project Characteristics, and Beta Testing Guidelines.

Thank-you,

--Brian.
