but watch your computers! I found three of mine halfway through crunching Nano WUs, and doing...nothing. Zilch. 0% CPU. Reset the project and set for no new WUs on all my machines after seeing this same thing happen on three different machines. Beware.

I guess I need to stop doing actual work so I can check the forums more often.

I made updates on the new items since the last time I posted. However, the Belgian Beer site is down for me again so I can't really add much to that one right now unless one of you kind souls wants to collect it for me when you notice that the server is online.

Thanks for the updates. And yes, check often.... we try to stay on top of the changes in the various projects

the beer site is up:

# Belgian Beer@Home
# Project Status: Hit or miss. Site down frequently, WUs few and far between.
# Team Name: http://bebeer.dyndns.org:2222/bebeer/team_display.php?teamid=49 (TeAm Anandtech)
# Account Creation: From BOINC client: http://bebeer.dyndns.org:2222/bebeer/
# WU Processing Time: Minutes or less
# WU Expiration Time:
# Project Description:
Project Background

The project is an effort of people from the BOINC.BE team. The idea of an own BOINC project comes up from time to time in our discussions, no doubt under the influence of that delicious blond or brown liquid: Belgian beer. There have been some valid ideas, but the talks always went silent after a short while since nobody in the team actually knows what it involves to set up and run a BOINC project.

I can't promise that some day this will turn into a real BOINC project. Chances are slim, but I don't exclude it either.

In the mean time I invite you all to use the forum. Feel free to comment on the website looks and report bugs. Please be gentle on the server. For the moment I run this project on a machine at home. If the load becomes too high, I won't be able to keep the site up 24/7.

Until further notice the correct URL is http://bebeer.dyndns.org:2222/bebeer If and when that would change, I will announce it in advance. If you do find that the site is no longer available for a longer period, I suggest you check out the BOINC.BE forum to see what happened.
Project Future

We are currently brainstorming about possible applications to run. It would be nice if it were a subject related to beer, but that isn't a requirement. If you have any suggestions, feel free to drop by at the BOINC.BE forum and discuss them with us. Or send a private message from the BOINC.BE forum to tutta55. We are also looking at the possibility of running small-scale experiments from Belgian students who have an interesting application in mind, but don't want to set up a server.

Hope this helps

Edit: let me add also the following:

1. This project is absolutely not for any science whatsoever, as stated by the Admin jar jar binks
2. Credits from here don't seem to show up in any stats that I have seen
3. If you get even 1 as a full credit, you're kicking ass in this project

....this is a just for fun project, and they admittedly don't want to take resources away from other worthy projects. Crunch it if you like, but it will never mean much (but I crunch it, and I'm all the way up to 0.77 total credit!)

No problem for me at all... love this thread and want to help keep the projects up to date

BTW, the Nano-Hive WU's are much more stable now. Not one seen sitting idle doing zilch with 0% CPU on a machine lately

Git a new project: Gerasim@Home. It's a Russian project, but as I can't read Russian, I don't know what it's about. But I got this info about the project:

From the admins today:

"2 yoyo:
Currently Gerasim@home Has No goals.
Scientiests want to see full working system ant waiting, when develepment ends.

After all, they will testing Gerasim's capabilities, relability...
Estimated completion (develepment) - 15 May 2007y.

When Gerasim Officcialy Starts, science info will be placed
to the project main page.
We don't hate making untimely announcements.
----
2 all:
Note: Gerasim@home is not Boinc project & server.
It based on source code from http://boinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/
and has interface, compatible with boinc clients. (Boinc Manager).
It runs under Win2003Srv, IIS6.0 and MSSQL.

Gerasim@home will keep Boinc compatible credits and statistics
for http://www.boincstats.com/ , http://www.boincsynergy.com/ and other stat sites.

2 registered participants:
Thanks. Your registration and comments can speed up develepment.
At present Gerasim has a lot of bugs, mistakes end so on...
Be benevolent. Ok?

----
Best regards.
project develeper,
project admin,
project scientist,
...
SerVal."

So, we'll see!

Looks like the recent "flood" of new DC projects has slowed down considerably ... which isn't bad after all, so the "forces of DC" don't get spread that much.

Yes, new project, Zivis.

But administratos have NOT yet give the go ahead for integration into boincstats.

It was thought to be a local project, but obviously they are now surpased by people from all the world joining in.

Project sciense: to traze particle movements on superheated plasma. Related to fussion dry run on future ITER through CIEMAT spanish organisation. See following pages for more info: (english)

http://www.ciemat.es/portal.do

Basics: Public support behind (not a corporation).

First aim was to involve people from Saragossa (Spain) in a shared computation experience (there is a link even to neigborhoods statistics with prizes FOR LOCALS ONLY.

Copypaste a mail from one of the adminstrators in its forum:

""
Autor: Fermin
Hello, we woke up of the siesta

Zivis project aims to create a distributed infrastructure in Zaragoza but it is open for everybody. At this moment, the only difference is the fact that the awards are only offered to people living in this great city.

Of course, we encourage all of you to participate and collaborate in this project which aim always included to increase the knowledge about Zaragoza abroad.

About the science behind the application, let me offer you a short introduction. What we are sending to the participants to calculate are particles trajectories inside a fusion device. Each work unit includes several particles to calculate. The result of the computation include significant values of the simulation, and sometimes values for its visualization. As you supose, dynamics in plasma is a complex problem and we solve them with stochastical differential equations. That's why the name of the application in boinc is langevin.
""

BTW, Zaragoza is Saragossa, just spanish spelling...

We're definitely way past due for an update, so here goes:

Added APS@Home, Cosmology@home, Gerasim@Home, Hydrogen@home, PS3Grid.net, Zebra RSA, and Zivis. Updated ABC@Home, BBC Climate Change, BelgianBeer@Home, Docking@Home, DRTG, Malaria Control, Orbit@Home, and Predictor@home.

http://isaac.ssl.berkeley.edu/cplan/ is already on the list as Cunning Plan, but I guess they dropped the name.

I also was unable to access http://ecc.crypto.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/ and http://isaac.ssl.berkeley.edu/sleeper/. I have added everything else to the list and updated the status of all projects that have changed that I am aware of or that were posted here. Thanks for keeping the thread updated for me.
