Motorola wireless G products, $9.99 AR

Anyone try these things??? On Black Friday I got the Netgears wireless G stuff, but i wanna quickly get rid of it (the drivers controlling it suck). I saw that Compusa had this on BackFriday for the same price and i was bummed. Looks like i can get them now.

On a seperate note, anyone have a copy of the upc of the belkin wireless 54g notebook card? My g/f threw the box away I can do with out the actual UPC since the rebare that rewuires it is only $10.

if you can deal with the rebates and that seagate drive is in fact the 7200.8 model, that's a damn hot deal!

Seagate 400GB drive deal is good all week. One rebate ($50) is instant, the $30 rebate is mail-in (manufacturer, but CompUSA-only). Sale price is $20 less than the regular price for the week.

What vendors still pricematch to C-USA?

I want a notebook, but $400 in rebates just makes me nervous. I think I'll wait for after Christmas/New Year sales.

Works great for me. they don't have a "boost" mode, they're purely 802.11g compliant (54Mb/s), have lots of parameters that you can configure (a plus for me) and support WPA-PSK/AES encryption (as well as lesser encryptiosn such as TKIP or WEP).
I bought all 4 device at Black Friday, just haven't used the USB adapter yet.

Probably going back to get a 2nd laptop card.

Well, I'll be trying to pick up one of those Toshibas tomorrow. My local store will only be selling ten of them, though.

I haven't had trouble with CompUSA rebates, but I've never gone in for $400 worth before. Still, I think using a CUSA card for one year no interest will make waiting for the rebates bearable.

I've burned plenty of CMC disks, almost always a brand name like Memorex, and they have burned and played flawlessly in all kinds of different players. The bogus failure rate someone stated maybe applies to silver top generics from a fly-by-night Internet company, but the name brand CMCs I have used have been perfectly fine.

I really hate it when people resort to such black and white trashing when they talk about media or anything else here.

Maybe I've had such good success because I've only used good quality Pioneer drives.

Nothing really great to see here. I'm moving on.

Damn, dude ... is all you do threadcap?

Hmm ... let me count the ways ... (more) (and more)

That, and you're an idiot ... but I'm not here to name-call ...

haha

you may not be, but I am.
thenotebook, you're a bitter tool. take your condescending pretentious zero value self elsewhere while you hate life, your lack of opposite sex interaction, and the fact that you're just as unliked online.

Btw, the seagate is 200 after only a $30 rebate online. Great deal at $.50 per gig and a 5 year warranty. I just can't rationalize spending $230 for a Tivo that cost nothing while I have to pay a monthly fee that I don't appreciate...

Edit

Wow, look at the killer deals you find...

if you went to the media link, you'd have read that they are a mean average only.

These are mean averages too simple statistics math, meaning best tests and worst tests are
discarded, and the middle range of tests is the basis for these numbers. You may sometimes find the rare instance where a CMC spindle will be perfect and a Taiyo Yuden spindle will be completely flawed, but those times are the exception rather than the rule (and are not part of a mean average)

btw, thenotebook got turbo owned.

I wonder how I was threadcrapping when all I said was I didn't see anything that interested me. I didn't bash the deal, but CStrikeADDICT here resorted to the namecalling they do in high school. "You're a guy and you don't talk to girls!" That kind of crap. Figures, coming from a Counter-Strike addict.

As of 0946 EST, the 400GB Segate went from in-store only to delivery only. Too bad it's gone back to in-store only.

-SUO, still trying to talk myself out of this

Arguing on the internet is like competing in the special olympics. I'll let you figure out why.

My last thoughts on the matter are this:

Yes, three years ago when I joined AT, I played some CS. Now I get to treat unhappy fellows like yourself due to your excessive bed wetting.

You're the epitome of a thread crapper. People are nice enough to post their deals up here; if you don't find what you want, you move on without saying so. No one cares that YOU are moving on. If something isn't a good deal and you wish to point it out, you do so. Otherwise, you let other people have their say or let the post naturally fade to the bottom of the pile. Isn't it idiotic to bring a post up to the front just so you can say you haven't found a deal to your liking?

I'm done with you.
**

Went to CUSA this morning, they were sold out of the 128mb Sony thumb drive for $10. Saw the 120 gb Maxtor and 400 gb Seagate drives but the Maxtor only has a 1 year warranty and the Seagate has 5. Out of curiosity, does anyone currently using Tivo see the point in having a 400 Hr Tivo? Is 40 hours enough?

I bought a router, PCI card, and PCMCIA card this morning...biggest piece of shiat I've ever used. The PCI card drops its connection to the router about every five minutes, then takes another five minutes or so to reconnect. Can't tell you anything about the PCMCIA card - can't get it to work on my Linux laptop. For comparison, my old D-Link router & PCI card only lose their connection about once or twice a month.

As soon as I get back from vacation this crap's going on ebay.

The ones I got on Black Friday work fine for me. Got another router and PCMCIA this morning.
Could be user error on your part, or maybe I got lucky.
Motorola is about to release new firmware that makes this thing even more more configurable and powerful (you can use it as a router, a WDS access point, or a regular access point)
