OK, went to the one nearest my house. no line, they let ppl in like 10 min before 6. it was super crowded inside, i thought i might not get the things i wanted. but well, as far as i can see, they have quite of bit of stocks. here's what i find out,
-APC surge protector ~15 in stock
-Memories ~a whole ton
-Hitachi HD ~10 or 15
-Maddog burner ~10 or 15
-Belkin router ~a whole ton
the trick is, the "hot" items like memories, burner, and hitachi hd, they don't put on display shelf, instead they place them on a shelf in the "business" section, they only give it to you if you asked them. i believe that way the salesman can talk you into buying other stuff.
I got the Averatec laptop, and boy it's a SUPER NICE laptop. thin, not heavy, nice screen, all in a compact box. this laptop is sooooo much better than the Toshiba one back in OD for about same price. THEY DO NOT have this laptop on shelf or anywhere in the store, you have to ask them for the deal, then some sales manager came out with one and talked 10 mins about their 3-yr warranty, which i rejected by saying i wanna compare their warranty price with the Averatec warranty first... blah blah.
anyway, my point is, they actually DO stock up the sales items, i see hundreds of 30-pack CDR stocked up on floor, the Averatec itself had about 4 left when i bought mine. Overall it was good experience cuz i guess i dodged those warranty offer fairly well.
