CompUSA closing all stores

I hope they close all their stores in CA so I won't be charged sales tax anymore on my online orders.

"Free country" does not entitle anyone to say whatever they want whenever they want to. If you don't believe me, try posting a pile of racial slurs here and see how long it takes you to get banned. Then run to your local airport and start screaming that you have a bomb on you and see how long it takes you to get arrested. What good are rights if you have no idea what they are or when they are applicable?

And threatening, even though deceivingly, hundreds of people at the airport has nothing to do with ability to speak freely. They will probably arrest, search you, and let you go with a ticket.

Those are not racist comments. He merely states his disapproval of products made in a certain place not by a certain race. I also suppose that anyone who prefers to buy only Japanese is also a racist by your definition. It's political not racial. Learn the difference. Fuggin-A, i'm lucky i got my store credit cashed in this summer. At least there was a warning shot before closing this next set of 100 stores. I keep wondering where the profit motive is, with corporate takeovers and mass-liquidations. CompUSSR bought the Good Guys chain, converted some to USSR & closed the rest. Then, they closed half of the USSR republics, and now the rest of em. I dont see them continuing any online operation.


I also won't buy Chinese crap from Mexicans ... but I did have a couple black friends back in high school, so it's cool.

I agree. I too have had Chinese, Mexican, Canadian, and Black friends. But I can be reluctant to purchase goods (other than oil) from those nations.

good bye and good riddance. I used to shop there a whole lot and dropped way to much money in there when they first opened up. As soon as Internet shopping got underway I went there probably 5-6 times a year just to walk around mostly. If they had a game on clearance I would get one of those sometimes. I probably have bought 4-5 games from them total the past 10 years but before 1997 I was buying their over-priced stuff almost every month.

It became almost a joke to go in there. Prices insanely high and the store filled with ignorant shoppers and salespeople who didn't know what they were talking about most of time. I went in there once 5 or so years ago and wound up telling this older lady about the computer since the salesman didn't know what he was talking about and was trying to steer her to a garbage system.
