If TCA do the rebate fullfilllment, good luck getting your rebate
If Parago do the rebate fullfilllmen, jump on it.
Seagate should be ultra-quite compared to maxtor, WD.
Seagate states ALL retail product carry only 1 yr warranty.
http://www.seagate.com/support/service/retail.html
However, the product descirption say 3 yr warranty.

those who bought seagate retail product, can u check if it's 1 or 3 yr waranty ?
If it's 3 yr, then it's a no-brainer decision.

All Seagate Retail Kits come with a 1 yr warranty, even if it's the 8Mb cache "Plus" version, like this is. I found out the hard way when I bought the 160Gb one from Compusa a few weeks back. I think Compusa purposely doesn't advertise that the retail kit is a 1 yr warranty on purpose...

Nope, 160 GB 8 MB cache's have 3 year warranties
Greetings xxxx,
After researching your issue we have been informed that all retail drives
are covered by a one year warranty.
Seagate offers the ST3160023A model in two different configurations,
retail kit (ST3160023A-RK) and bare drive (ST3120023A) versions. The
drives warranty is designated by the inclusion or absence of the "RK"
designator for Retail Kits.
The Retail Kits are only sold through Best Buy and CompUSA at this time
and are covered by a one year warranty. The bare drive model is covered
by the three year warranty.
We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused you.
Regards,
Bobby F.
Disc Presales
it suck to only have 1 yr when WB JB has 3 yr.
