R9700 Pro AIW may be pretty nice for those who need an almost top-of-the-line vid card that also has a TV tuner etc on it. Actually, this looks like possibly good price matching material.

Seagate has been doing their own rebates through Parago/RebatesHQ (Niagara Falls, NY address) like Maxtor so it should not be going through TCA.

Personally I've had trouble getting rebates from Parago. To get my Maxtor rebate (which Parago listed as "processing" forever ~2 months) I finally called Maxtor headquarters (after many emails, and only form responses from Parago).
Maxtor assures me now "the check is in the mail."

I had the same thing on the Two mator rebates for the 40gig HD @ staples.
The online status for both rebates said in Final Proc will take up to 30 days for something like 50 days.. Only two days ago did it change to saying the rebates are in the mail..
So in the end it took just over 8 weeks for the rebates to be mailed from the day I mailed them.

This HD has TIVO written all over it..

If Parago do the rebate fullfilllmen, jump on it.

Seagate should be ultra-quite compared to maxtor, WD.

Seagate states ALL retail product carry only 1 yr warranty.

The ad is from my Sunday paper inserts (I get them on Saturday) and says nothing about internet availability. We'll have to wait and see if it shows up online.

I believe Seagate is using www.rebatestatus.com. This site is used for amazon rebates (fast) and norton/symantec rebates (slowwwww) The speed with which we receive payment is not predictable.
