It'll probably suck, just like nearly all CompUSSR sales, but what the hey

Linked Up...

Nothing happening now, but supposedly on 4-20 you can come back and get:

- Save up to 30% on Computers, Printers and PDAs
- Save up to 50% on Upgrades and Games
- Save up to 75% on Networking
- Save up to 85% on Accessories

Have fun!!

That's exactly what I was thinking... They do have the occasional hot deal though.

If the time spent on the image on that link is any reflection of how much time and thought was put into this sale, then yes

I'm confused: if the site does not have any deals listed, how can anyone know what the deals are, such as the link listed above for the digital camera?

Am I missing something?

The problem with these deals are that I'd like to know ahead of time whether it is worth my time to order something from them. If I know about the deal ahead of time, i can decide what, if anything, i want to purchase BEFORE the site starts getting slammed. By not knowing, there is very little chance I'll actually return when the sale begins. Just my opinion, though.

I got it. The point is whether it was worth getting.

Hopefully CUSA won't screw this one up and give me a reason to haul my ass down there.

Okay, I'm at a loss on the 4-20 thing. Anyone wanna clue us all in, or at least send me a PM? I'm not getting the joke.

I don't think you will have to go down to he store as the stores appear to be closed on Easter. It looks like any sale would be online only.

Nothing too exciting. However, the sale does indicate to check back on 4/20/2003 -- so, the listed prices could change a bit on that date.

Two things:

1.) 420 is a "code word" for smoking ganja. So anytime someone says 4-20 (as in April 20) or 4:20 (as in 4:20 pm), all the pot-smokers chuckle to themselves. OK, I admit it, I snicker too

2.) This appears to be one of the CUSA "blind" sales -- where you won't find out exactly what's on sale until Sunday. As it's a holiday Sunday, it'll probably be online only as some people have mentioned. If you're a huge sucker, you can stay up late on Saturday and check the CUSA site at 12:01am to see if there's more details. Also, some people might get their Sunday ads early - like probably Saturday AM in their preview editions of the Sunday paper. There might be more details in there.

"Up to" is one of those phrases of art. Anything from 0% - 85% is covered by the "up to 85%" umbrella.

Of course, to make it even more meaningless, add the words "or more" to it. For example, "Save up to 85% or more," could logically mean 0%, or 50%, or 97%, or any other percentage.

As Dante wrote in his _Inferno_, the 6th circle of hell is reserved for those who in life wrote deceptive and misleading advertising copy. (Honest. You can look it up for yourself if you don't believe me. It's right after the chapter where Virgil tells Dante what happens to email spammers once they die.)

It was kind of like that honey bear that flashed across the screen in Clueless whent hey were taking donations for charity. My friends and I were the only ones laughing.

My last trip to CompUSA got me a 180GB hard drive for $99, so I don't know what some of you are harping about. I'm looking forward to seeing what they have on Easter.

I can't hold it inside me..... CompUSA is one of the worst when it comes to deals... barring the FAR items they keep having !

LOL, right on, Mike7! Spammers and stupid advertisers really tick me off! As in...they should burn for being so malicious, greedy, <insert other derogatory comment of your choosing>, etc. I used to work at a CompUSA during high school, thank God, I don't have to work retail anymore. Although there were some benefits....but overall not worth it.

Good try uncleBUD but EARTH DAY is on March 20 or 21st, or maybe even April 22 depending on which Earth Day you observe, and Easter certainly isn't always on Apr 20.
So if you ALWAYS have fun on 4/20 it must be for other reasons.

earth day was created back in the 60's, when everyone had a friend that was a chemist, and needed one day of the year to be reminded of what planet they were on.
