wtf are you talking about?
Why would you want to DESTROY your xp home copies? (I assume you are refering to the cds you just bought)
Im sure if you ever need to do a fresh Vista install you will need to pull out the the xp home cd for its previous version verification...
so no - please dont destroy legal copies of software- geez!

Just remember you will need either a previous windows version installed on the HDD or a previous windows cd handy to do a fresh install with an Upgrade CD...

Hey Guys

Was wondering if anyone else had this, I went to the Technology Guarantee Programs For Microsoft Office & Windows site, I selected XP Home upgrade, It gave me the Vista home upgrade to buy at the $9.99 shipping, and I went through the order process, before I could print the receipt explorer game me an error and I lost the screen, the order went through but I was unable to read the mail in terms they needed from my boxed upgrade.

Any way
I purchased 2 copies today, I'm not sure how many copies you can claim.

I went back to the site the second time from a different computer, this time I loged in to my account on msn. it poped up from using it before with this computer, any way to make this story long and loose half the readers !

This time I wasnt asked what copy I owned, it went derectly to chose what copy I wanted, Vista home upgrade, or Vista business upgrade, so I selected the business copy for the $9.99 shipping. Maybe because I partisipated in the beta program from my business.

Do you guys thinks ill lose my box top proof and not get the Bussiness copy.
is anyone trying for 2 copies.

any ideas ?

Thanks for any help

I had the same thing just happen to me. It kept giving me a printer error when I tried to print my receipt. I went back to my internet cache and saved a copy of the web page, copied to a USB drive and tried to print it on another computer. Still wouldn't print. I finally took the the web page I saved and made a pdf of the page online at Adobe. They give you the ability to create 5 free pdf's. It isn't the greatest looking receipt, (it looks different from the web document), but it will do. Microsoft must have a bug in there somewhere if this has happenened to three ATers. I still have three more copies to register but there's plenty of time left. I got in on the Staples deal two weeks ago where I got XP Pro for 50.00 + after coupons and a 100.00 EZrebate. I'll be able to get Vista Business for 60.00 (50.00 +9.99 S&H) after my 100.00 rebate comes through.

Only shows for XP Home and XP Pro. I don't see a spot for the MCE upgrade but I've heard MCE upgrades to Vista Home Preminum. AFAIK there is no upgrade to Ultimate.
The three XP's have upgrades to three versions of Vista. Ultimate is a fourth Vista version.

So this is for anyone who has Windows XP Home to get an upgrade CD for Vista basic? If I purchased XP a few months ago (OEM btw) I can request this CD and upgrade?

If you are upgrading to Vista, you will need to send in the box top to the retail XP and send in a copy of your dated receipt.

Does anyone have any idea what the pricing on Windows Anytime Upgrade will be? I seem to remember seeing it would cost $49 to upgrade from Home Basic to Home Premium, so that'd be 88.99 to end up with Home Premium. Compare to Amazon's price for the Vista Home Premium (Upgrade Edition) for $154.99. Saves roughly $65.

Don't know about prices but the licensing terms will keep me from doing an Anytime Upgrade. (Unless of course they decide to change them too)
