Hey guys, just an update (I'm posting from the USB adapter!). I had to manually enter the full 128-Bit WEP key in Hex and not use the "ascii" generated wep key. I guess thats what fixed it because now its working right after doing that. I'm gonna reboot now and see if it retains the proper settings.

yippy.

Edit:Well it still kinda sucks. When I boot up I have to go into the utility, click on the security tab and hit apply. Otherwise I dont connect. Oh well, atleast now I know it works and I can live with doing that.

"Isn't that AMD 64 PC from HP a good deal? $800 + tax out the door. No rebates."
it's okay definitely if people want $200 media edition and no rebates to bother with
that ps is 250w though -- me and a tech opened one up at office depot... 300(w) would be nice -- i should have got the name, but i think it was delta?

The AT&T wireless products use an Atheros chipset. I found the following driver on the web that is a generic Atheros driver/utility that came with my wife's Toshiba I bought her for Christmas. Much better than the AT&T utility, and has many more features. Actually works better than WZC in windows also. You can adjust signal strength, turn off g mode, set up different profiles. I am currently using this utility with pcmcia card, works awesome. The activity/link lights on the card flash together all the time, even when hooked up to access point. Doesn't seem to be an issue. Card is now listed as "Atheros wireless network adapter" in device manager. Signal strength is great, much better than an old Uniden b mode card I had. These are not even the latest Atheros drivers, but they say that windows update will update to the most current after install. Be sure to uninstall AT&T drivers and utility before install. Hope this helps.

chrisram -- THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

WAY better than the at&t drivers!
I can confirm the drivers linked above work well (at least) in win98se.
They actually connect to the network of your choosing, with no extra help needed.

Plus, many more settings for the techno-geek.
