I went into Compusa yesterday to check things out. I talked to the salesrep at the cameras and she showed me which one it was. I can't remember the name because it was one I have never heard of. She told me the midnight sales are lame. She said that they only have 10 of these cameras for sale at this store. She said that everyone lines up starting at 5:00PM. I am sure the same will apply to the harddrive and other good deals. Your chances of getting anything might be slim unless you get there early and wait in line. She talked me out of trying.

Of all the many Memorex CD-Rs I've tried, they were all Ritek. Might be the same here. And Ritek has worked very very well for me. almost as good as TYs.

Got the speakers. There weren't too many people there like pre thanksgiving... i just went at 6:10 and got the speakers and left.

The speakers have 4 rca plugs in the back (2 input & 2 output) pretty basic but gets the job done better than my crappy speakers in my tv.

Not as good as the CMC or Riteks. In the last sale, not last Sunday, I got both CMC and Prodisc, the CMC's seemed to be on average slightly better than the Prodisc in my Liteon burner. The current batch of CMC's seem quite good, better than last years sale Memorex CDR's. But as usual with CMC there's a lot of variability.

this elderly gentleman bought the last ones right out of my hands (i took pity and gave them to him -- said he drove all the way across town -- and was tearing the csrs/mgrs anew because of it! "yawl don't never have stock of the stuff on sale! this the second time that i done done this! the first was last year...")
somebody had hid them, but hey
all the cd-rs were gone though
got my sd -- turned around, was waffling but saw the other two had been snatched, so continued on
these jive turkeys are trying to sell warranties on the cards even! man...

I actualy called today about the retractable ethernet cord.

I went to cusa and it was pretty crazy. The USB 256 drive was only $40, NO MIR!! how awsome is that? I also got a bunch of the usb lights, only $3 before rebate each. I dont think im going to deal with the 3$ rebates.

My mistake russ, I meant dvd+rw's.

My store had tons of cd-r's and dvd's. One guy took at least 15 cases of the cd's and had at least 30 packs of the dvd+rw's. hmmm, wonder what he does

What was really funny was seeing all the "lost" people in the cd media aisle looking for cd-r's. I overheard one guy say "I think this is them" (they weren't) so I told him the display was up front by the registers. All the people that were in the aisle left real quick

Went over there about 9:30pm and saw the CD-R's stacked by the case out front center of store by the registers too. I found only two types of packaging and both had 2003 copywrites.

One had a raised clear "nipple" at top center, a thin lip at the bottom which was charcoal black. The other had a recessed clear nipple at the top and a thick (> 1/2 inch) lip around the bottom which was black plastic. I don't know which is which as I don't have a burner on the system I'm using at the moment.

Yeah... I helped some shoppers out. There was a single package of the DVD+RW's left on the shelf which I handed to a guy shopping with a friend. Showed the friend the CompUSA DVD-R's since he had a minus burner only. HA... there weren't any of the Memorex CD-R's in the CD media aisle and let them know what was up front. Encouraged a guy who was returning his Buslink 8x+- burner that it was selling at a decent AR price, might be a good piece of hardware (Lite-On) and mentioned the deal on the DVD+RW's, but last one was taken. Cashier showed 6 still in stock, and a mgr found one hidden in another part of the store.

I spoke with a manager expressing my displeasure that I have found one of the green PC Relocator software boxes on their wall and I had looked for it there Sunday fruitlessly. I showed him printouts I had showing zero inventory at his store throughout the week. The second manager who found the DVD's told me she had found it in the back area of the store and had put it on the shelf. No one would sell it to me for the AR price of $0.00, they now wanted the full $29... Arrggghh

ubud... They had that online showing the instant and mail-in rebate discounts. Penny shipping too!

I considered this and called a buddy who has a Canon ZR something that can use the SD card. Passed on it as he never returned my call.

It was a funny sale. I went to the Syracuse store and there was a line at the door through 6:15pm, the manager was there only letting a couple people in at a time, and the line outside was only like 20 people tops. I got in line and about 5 minutes later, they let everybody in.

By the time I got in the DVD burners were gone, but I didn't care when you can get better for the same price without rebates from newegg. I picked up a harddrive, which they had about 40 of. I snagged a USB flash drive out of a shipping box (3 left when I got to them), and about 15 minutes later told a lady that was looking for one they were out.

It was insane. There was a guy that went there to buy parts to build a machine. Asus motherboard for $215 and an AMD XP CPU for like $170. PLUS tax. The guy was an idiot.

Oh well.

Well, this probably belongs in Brag 'n' Moan, but I had seen the Secure Digital 256MB memory card on sale. Then, I went to the CompUSA site to see more about it and found it was already on sale there, $49.99 amir. I also saw that Fry's had it listed as store stock at Outpost, so I swung over to the Renton store at lunch. They agreed to price match for the out-the-door price. So, walking away with one for $50, I wondered if I could have some fun with CompUSA? At 3pm, I went to the closest CompUSA and showed them the Fry's receipt, and asked if they would price match. They gave me the card for the $50 bucks, out-the-door as well. I turned away for a second, and I sort of thought that maybe the register had printed out a rebate. But he only handed me the receipt, not the rebate. I saw one lying by the register. About ten minutes later, I went up to the rebate board, looking to see if there was a printed rebate. A friendly sales associate asked if he could help. I told him I was looking to see if there was a rebate, and he asked for my receipt. He tapped on the closest register, and handed me back a rebate form. Cool! One for $50 and one for $35!

Sounds like you saw pretty much the same results that I did. I also have a Sony/Lite-On 52x-upgraded burner.

I scored the BusLink DVD burner for $79.99 after rebate. Thanks goodnes it was a Lite-On. Not a bad deal.
