Yah the HDD is the only thing that caught my eye. saying "4 megapixel camera" tells you almost nothing. It's like saying "200HP car"...it could be a Neon or a 325i...one you would pay good money for, the other you wouldn't even let your mother-in-law ride in.

According to the SKU, the 90 CDRs (3x30) are Memorex. Anyone know who makes these? Are $8, no rebate so this is a potential hot deal at nine cents each with no rebate.

they also seem to be 48x cdrs so they will probably burn @ 52x i'll be picking up a few of these

Isn't this the same CDR deal that they had on Sunday one day also?

If they are indeed the Memorex that I picked up Sunday, they are made by either Ritek or CMC Magnetics. The way to tell who makes them before buying, if you have a preference, is looking at the copyright date on the label.

The CMC disks say copyright 2003, and the Ritek say 2004. The spindle tops are also slightly different, the CMC's have a round upright "nipple" while the Ritek's have like an octogan shape and don't protrude up as much.

FWIW: the base of the Riteks are black versus charcoal. Burned both Ritek and the CMC and the C1/C2 errors were pretty close and very good so far, with Ritek being slightly better than the CMC. (Ritek C1<.250/C2=0, CMC C1<.500/C2=0), if you can get the Ritek those would be the better choice because there's less variance in the error rates than the CMC. The CMC will occasionally return C1 errors slightly over 1.000, still good though.

Don't know but if I were to assume the current price is the "out the door" price, it'll probably be two rebates combined together for a value of $120.

About to buy a DVD burner. What does everyone think about the 8x for $80. It is a Buslink 8x4x12 Internal IDE DVD+/-RW +/-R Drive I would rather get an NEC or Plextor from Newegg, but have a gift card to CompUSA. Any suggestions?
