Hehe, even with the 60% off on upgrades they manage to rip you off by about 20% Merry *mas!

I think the best-priced item is the TDK external 40/12/48 burner for 54.99 - you couldn't score an enclosure AND a burner for that.
The WORST is the laptops. 749.99 for a P3-600? 599.99 for a first-gen iBook? I mean, come ON, guys - no wonder you're in trouble financially.

I see this "" thing written in a lot of threads.
Will someone please (for Christmas) tell me what this means? I can't figure it out!
Thanks.

Yeah, those prices are kind of INSANE. I guess at the very least, by me just clicking around their site a little, it boosted their Web stats up a little.Originally posted by: astrochimp
LUCKILY that sale is only 1 day..
I don't think they could handle TWO DAYS of those kind of INSANE prices :disgust:
Actually, their Apple iBook was priced at 60% off ... of what it would have sold TWO YEARS ago! Plus, it's a refubished item.Originally posted by: whatnow
I can't belive that Comp calls this a sale! Where's the 60% off notebook? Whoever writes these up should be sued for false ads. Biggggggggg waste of time!!!! :disgust:
That's a good point. However, I can still get through to the item and enter my Zip code. However, it's not available at any of the 5 stores in my area. I guess if they are offering these items during a "one day, Internet only sale" - then, they should disable the option for you to check the stock at your local stores.Originally posted by: mr-evil
OfficeDon - how is CUSA having the camera in stores near you going to help when this is a 1 day only sale, and all the stores are closed that day? That and the fact the front page of the sale clearly states that they are internet prices only.
Actually the external enclosure is just a bunch of plastic pieces surrounding the card. Main purpose of it is to hide the daughter card in the back that is just directly attached to the drive. That's why the case is so conforming to the drive. You can take it out of the case, but then the "case" would be no-functional and then you can use the burner as a normal internal drive.Originally posted by: DestruyaUR

CompUSA is not the only company to charge restocking fees. Read the fine print at the Micro-Center or Best Buy. Most of these places will not let you purchase a new laptop, use it (or even open it for that matter) and return it a few days later without a restocking fee.Originally posted by: tqlGTO

I thought they were in good shape, since they have the guts to charge 15% restocking after Xmas. Prices are the same as MC, CC and BB, but they dont offer the same guarantees? No wonder less people shop there. I bet they lose a lot of repeat business every Xmas when people find out they cant return opened items.
