All the free stuff is negated by being required to buy some stupid cable. Look at the free router... looks really good on paper for free, but then you gotta pay $25 for a 7ft network cable!!! ohmygod, $25 for 7ft of cable is stupid!!!!!

passign,

I would not recommend that scanner, I own one. The scans are nice and clear, but the colors are washed out and a bit dark. I would recommend spending a few more bucks and get the Canon 670U from Amazon - about 60 bucks if you use a $5 coupon.

The $40 AR DVD+Cable deal was gone at my local BM within 1/2hr of opening. Obviously this was another InCOMPetentUSA Bait and Switch come on. I wasn't even sure I wanted it.

They were setting up a grill outside if that's any consolation for those without a party to go to today.

They didn't have any more of the lasonic or whatever DVD players so they brought out some Apex DVD players. Apex is a better brand isn't it? The model is AD-1500. Also my mom wants to use the DVD to view chinese DVDs, can she unlock this DVD player in some way to do that? Thanks for any info.

I love the Apex 1500. Just make sure it operates mechanically okay, I.e. tray opens and closes well. Will play any VCD XVCD SVCD I can burn. It will also play .mpg files just burnt as ISO.

The one I went to in Auburn Hills MI had the Belkin DSL router mismarked. I took it up to the register and the sales person rang it up on the register. It came to $100.00. I then told her to look at the add and explained that there was a $75.00 instant rebate on it. She just looked at it and said what a great deal that was and changed the price to $15.00. I guess she didn't read the print about having to buy the cable. I don't know where she came up with $15.00 but I am not going to complain.

So I am going to make $10 of the deal. I must have been the first person to check out with one of those.

I was looking for one for my parents so I thought it was a good deal for really free after rebate.

Of course it it.

But $25 for a router sure isn't!

How is the rebate going to be approved with an Apex 1500 UPC?

It seems they would have to give you an instant rebate or a gift card.

They wrote something on my receipt, and said all the same rebates apply. If I don't get my rebate I will have to go to the store and raise hell about it. I just "upgraded" it to play all the region DVDs, haven't tried it out yet. I saw one guy get the last lasonic brand, maybe I should of told him they were offering Apex's? They brought out a whole huge pallet of them too. One guy said they didn't have any more cables:Q, but of course this was the same guy who said there were no more DVD players. Got the last cable(but I think the boxes under it were full of cables too, don't know for sure) and the first DVD player off the pallet.

I went to the Compusa on Blossom Hill Rd. in San Jose this morning. They had about stack of about 15 dvd players at around 10:30AM. I picked up the the Lennox model dvd player. It seems like a pretty good deal for $40 worth of cables.

This 80 gb Maxtor only shows up in ONE document on the Maxtor website! The box says model L01J080G, and the search says that is a D740X. Ok...go to the D740X and there is NO DOCUMENTATION for a L01J080G. I can't get this damn thing to get recognized by my BIOS.

San Diego CompUSA has about 15 DVD players total. The scanners were also there but there were no speakers. Also, I saw someone walk out with the router, so there are probably a few more of those left.

What makes me wonder about all you people complaining about the router, if you REALLY wanted to, you could just buy the cable and get your router...then go back and try to return the cable...what are they going to do, ask you to give back their $75? Who knows, you could get one of those people that couldn't add or care about asking about everything else.

My receipt flew out of my car on the way home from CompUSA. So I drove back there this afternoon and they reprinted a receipt for me for the Mail in Rebates. They printed the receipt on a normal piece of paper, it didn't even look at all like a normal receipt... more like a printout from a printer. Do you think the MIR center will honor this receipt? I hope so...

I'm going to try returning the Monster Cables.. they're such a ripoff!

But you need the UPC off the cables. The cables are a ripoff, but $40 for cables and a DVD player isn't bad.

n/m they have stock of the cables, the routers and the cdrs in the bay area if the site is correct. i don't know how they can justify grossly overcharging for the cables regularly though

hopefully that imation rebate doesn't clash with the one i got from best buy today.

Oh, yeah...that's why I just mentioned the router since the significant amount of the total rebate was taken instantly. Even $25 bucks is pretty good for a router.
