plenty of belin routers in edison nj. here is the thing. on the rebate coupon, it does not ask for the upc of the patch cable. so what i am thinking... just don't open the patch cables, and return it like next week. then u could get $25 worth of stuff u actually want. think that's possible? or do u think compusa will ask u to cough up the $75 instant rebate for the router?

All of these rebates are run by TCA Fulfillment Service Inc.
These are absolutely the worst rebates. The rates of redemption on them are 50% and lower. You have very good chance to never see your rebate coming. There is quite a lot of info about this company available, some of that on fat purse recently.

That is really amazing, good for you. In the fat purse thread there was a post with this company's own redemption rates. They go from 15% for $5 to 50% for $50. That means they will not return 50% of $50 rebates. I don't think my idea of retail purchase would involve dealing with NY State Attorney office or with Better Business Bureau to get my $20 rebate back if at all.
You are aware of "New Rochelle" rebates? I mean that is what we are talking about.

I know that this is the place where people want to prove how skilful they are about making incredible "deals" but simple statistics with rebates are showing that that is not the case at all. Otherwise I don't know where are all of those people loosing them. Or perhaps that denial effect takes over so you simply forget the rebates you didn't get because mentally you have made the "perfect deal" already.

I too, have received all my rebates from TCA (New Rochelle) except for one. Two were 100 ea, a few 50 rebates and many 20's. They only one I didn't receive was a 5.00 one that I didn't bother calling about. Agreed, on a few I had to make multiple phone calls to receive, but in the end I received around 500 from them on a dozen promotions. I do not like that kind of hassle for money that's owed to me so I have avoided TCA altogether. If you aren't ready to fight a little then yes, you will be in the "other" 50% bracket. That's what they count on. If you're part bulldog then you will prevail.

This IS the place where skillful deals are made. The statistics may be correct, but they don't apply here. The people that aren't getting their rebates do not have the collective experiences we have here at Anandtech. A lot of the others will just give up. There are not many quitters around here. We help each other to get these rebates through our experiences. Accusing people here of being in denial is tantamount to calling us liars. Didn't your mother tell you if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?

If somebody has passed the borderline of politeness, that is you, sir.
The language you are using to respond to my post you should reserve for your children in case you have them.

Like esquared and dakata I have received all my rebates from TCA. I didn't "forget" any and I'm not in any kind of denial. Some of them have required phone calls but every one has been paid. Currently 10 show on their website for me - all paid. They were mailed out 2 at 8 weeks, 1 at 10, 4 at 12, and 1 each at 14, 15 and 20 so the last three required some prompting to get them. I don't consider this "amazing", I consider it normal as I have had to do about the same amount of prompting at other rebate centers. So before anyone gets frightened off completely by the doom and gloomers, remember that many of us DO get our TCA rebates.

Anyone know what the sound and video quality is like for the DVD player? I'm thinking of getting one to replace my PS2 for watching DVDs.

Oh and by the way, awesome post JohnnyBlaze47. Thanks for all the hard work.

Here is one of the best DVD Players for $99.88 after $30 MIR with free shipping, it's $150 cheaper than the Samsung but doesn't include a VCR. Still one of THE BEST DVD Players around.

You can find hacks at www.vcdhelp.com or more specifically:

Lenoxx 2003

Macrovision and region codes are both there.

For once, they had a stack of these in there when I went in. I picked up the Lenoxx 2003 because I couldn't find anything about the hackability of the Lasonix Delta 1000 at www.vcdhelp.com.

So far it works great for my SVCD's on CDRs that won't play in my Sony DVP-S360.

It only has S-Video and component (not composite) where the Lasonic had all three but for the most part, I think it's fine.

I think the Lenoxx 2003 will play all VCD but the other model will not play all VCD. That is what it said on the box. So Lenoxx 2003
is a better machine!

My Pacific Digital Mach 40 internal IDE CD-RW turns out to be a Liteon.
The exterior of the box serial number conforms to the 12 digit serial number.
The top of the unit has the Lite-On Corp Model LTR-40125S stamped on it.

I was pleasantly surprised!

I'm looking at my rebates here for the Lenoxx DVD player. There are two rebates, and each asks for the original UPC codes. Yet it doesn't say which code goes with which rebate. I'm almost debating just sending both UPC's in with the $60 rebate, so at least I get the majority of my money. Anyone have a hint? I don't want to get shot down by TCA jerks because they are unclear about rebates.

Triumph:
The same thing is true for the external CDRW, or at least the wording is ambiguous. I called CUSA rebate hotline. They said to send the original to the manufacturer's rebate address and a copy to the CUSA address (New Rochelle). FWIW.
