Thanks, FrankyJunior. My Netgear router blew last week. I just wish I heard about this before I spent $8 on shipping the old router back. At least this is a newer version, and I can sell the repaired one n e-bay.

Also, Woody419, the sku number is for the v2 model.

I don't mean to crap, but I recall the Netgear router missing something that caused either its funtionality or security to be lacking.

I'm considering picking one up.

If anyone remembers the info, please repeate it here.

Thanks

I've had a MR814 for a few years now. Supports WEP and I beliece WPA. Has MAC address filtering and all the other standard stuff I've looked for...

Somehow I don't think that would work since the printer doesn't have a network jack in it so probably needs an external printer server attachment type thing but thought I'd ask...

As long as you are talking about a wireless print server, with a USB host port on it, designed to plug a USB printer into, then you should be ok. Do NOT simply buy a USB wireless NIC, those are designed to plug into a PC's USB host port, and the printer only use a USB device port. It's the wrong way 'round.

Picked up the router, usb adapter and the Gateway laptop.
They took $50 off the laptop at the register (so $850) and then added a $50 ?90 day support pack? that I have no use for and didnt ask for. Would it be unethical to try to return the support pack? Are the returnable?

I got the Gateway laptop. Nice machine so far. I have to install XP Pro though because I can't stand Home (no IIS and no security). BB also has 512mb RAM for like $80 AR, so I plan to get that and make it a true computer.

I just got the b wifi router but unfortunately it doesn't give good enough reception for my current situation. Does the remedy to my problem involve getting a g router instead or is there a cheaper solution?

In any case, thanks OP. I got 3 of the USB wifi keys and one router.

Did any one else get the 19-inch LCD monitor?

I have been looking for one for a while but I am a cheap bastard and didnt want to spend $500.00+ on one.

I got it set up quickly and easily, I am using the DVI connection to my 6800gt.

Brought it home around 9:30, it took 5 minutes to get it set up, I had to see how HL2 looked so I fired it up and played for three hours straight, looks awesome, but there is a little smearing in dark parts, I found I didnt notice it when I wasnt looking for it, like when I was focused on the game.

Overall it looks really good, for $350.00 it looks fvcking great

Thanks for the post picked up the wireless kit & the router yesterday in Buffalo. Mailed out the $45 rebate, hope to have it by Valentine's day.
I also got two $5 off $25 coupons at the register. Maybe use them Friday if there's anything I want/can afford.
