Mostly unimpressive as usual CrapUSA style.

Curious the wireless router is cheaper than the client card.

What's up with the SMC router?
It shows a price of $49.99 AR, but when you click the link, it shows a wireless Barricade model for $79.99 AR.

What gives?

Fry's Outpost.com has the SMC7004VWBR for $49.99 AR ($50), which is not the same router listed on the CompUSA page.
CompUSA is showing the SMC2404WBR, which Outpost offers for $69.99 AR ($50).

Warcraft III
It says $29 after rebate and savings. Regular price is $49 so I suppose it is $10 IR and $10 MIR?

$70 for a 60GB Maxtor isn't too bad a deal. Doesn't look like it involves a rebate and that makes it a very good deal, indeed.

The IBM Precision Scroll Mouse is pretty HOT for $3.88* *after savings (#296182)
if after savings means no rebates... It's a nice mouse, with the same body as
the Optical Scoll Mouse, but with a ball. Has a nice feel to it IMHO...

FYI this is not an genuine IBM mouse. It is the cheap Micro Innovations brand and is does require a $5.00 mail-in rebate for the $3.88 net price despite what is stated on the product page. I noticed the store manager with this ad and the associated rebates yesterday while in CompUSA. I asked if I could look at the ad and rebates. The Micro Innovations Mouse #296182, Micro Innovations wireless keyboard #297630, and Micro Innovations wireless optical mouse #297651 are all on the same rebate form. The deal for the standard optical mouse #296182 is $11.88 - $3.00 - $5.00 MIR = $3.88 plus taxes on $11.88.

Forgot to mention - If you really want this POS, you can get it at Big Lots everyday for $2.99 without any Compucrap deceptive advertising and rebate hassles.

Hard to believe how much the prices for the SMC wireless routers have fallen. I've used a SMC wireless router for over a year with the only problem being interference from a cordless phone. Comp USA has been slow with rebates. If you want to avoid the rebate hassle Amazon.com has it for $85, no rebate, no sales taxes, free shipping:

The wireless router is listed as $49 on the main page. But, when you click on the link, the detailed information indicates $79.99 after instant and mail-in rebates. - However, as their ad states, "print out a copy of the specials and take them to your local store." I'd just print the main page and let the local store work out the details so that you can get the router for $49.99. Heck, they'd probably just give you an "instant" price adjustment down to $49.99 and then you could sweeten it up a bit by sending in the rebates.

[Edit]: I realized this same issue was noted earlier up above. Doesn't anyone at CompUSA perform a QC check of their prices before finalizing their Web pages? Apparently not!

Saw what might be a warm deal on their internet clearance site...

CompUSA internet clearance has a dvd100i DVD+RW for $159, no rebates. I almost bought it but then decided against it since it's just +RW and that media is a little more than I like to pay.

The ad says "These Special Offers Available In-Store Only" "NOT AVAILABLE VIA MAIL ORDER/INTERNET."

The internet page for the router says "$79.99 after rebates... Save $30 if you buy this in store"

So - seems to me that the web page is correct. It is $79.99 if you order online, $49.99 if you bring the ad to the store. According to the ad the additional $30 off in-store may be instant savings or a rebate. I don't know which.

Any one bought SMC2404WBR before? How does it perform? The review posted in Amazon kills it.

Not to threadcrap, and I have no personal experience with this product, but the general rule of thumb is that Apex and quality do not go together.

It's my understanding that Apex is an import company. They don't actually manufacture anything, they just paste their label on various products from several far east manufacturers. I'm not implying that's a bad thing. Heck, Sears has done that for decades. But it would be hard to say how good a companies products are if they don't actually manufacture them.
For what it's worth, I have 2 different Apex 20" TV's in the house and am real happy with them. Both were purchased in the last 6 months, so I dunno how long they will last, but as cheap as they were, I don't really expect a long life out of them.
