or call us at 1-800-653-3831. Any delay in the shipment of your order

[*]Any delay in the shipment of your order will not affect the $30 Mfr. Mail-In Rebate. All rebates will be honored, even after the expiration date.

The question is, the rebate request must be received by Iomega by Jan 31, and the delay is expected 3-4 week, that's going to be a problem.

"Due to unanticipated demand...we are experiencing overwhelming demand."

Due to the uneducated staff, we are unable to write a proper sentence...

Besides, how could they not anticipate such a demand when they put it on sale for that price?

crap... 3-4 weeks? i called yesterday, and they said 7-10 working days. and yes... that rebate thing is going to be a pain, maybe they'll adjust our receipts so that the order date will read 1/1/01 so we can use the 2nd rebate. i'm going to try calling them now

Heh, I got the email, too - thought it'd be a cancellation notice. At least it isn't that...

This stinks, It's not like I ordered 10 to resale on eb*y. Just 1 for me, 1 for my wife's system, 1 for a friend & 1 for my sister-in-law. I actually should have ordered 5, since I now have another relative who needs one. I don't mind if it takes 8 weeks, just send me my drives !!!

It sounds like they probably had a lot of people trying to order dozens at a time, and they're telling them the'll only get one. I'm happy to see them do that instad of letting the greedy people ruin it for the rest of us.

I'm glad that they finally came to their senses and limited this to 1 per customer. Should have dont that from the beginning. Obviously there are a lot of a$$holes out there that will exploit any system with loopholes and screw everyone else. Sorry about your 35 relatives that all needed one man, but I think its more fair this way. I think Aunt Marcy will get along fine without a burner. And I agree...still a great deal even without the rebate. Sometimes they intentionally overestimate the delay to keep people from hastling them. You could imagine the calls they would get if they claimed 10 days and it didn't come in by then.

Well mods will probably lock this thread as soon as they see it too, even though its relevant to most of us and has to do with a deal. They have been locking a lot of stuff here lately.

Sounds more promising than the cancellation e-mails most of you where expecting. Wish I had ordered one online, than go to CompUSA and have the MGR tell me that he will not give out rainchecks for this item on Sunday morning when they opened. Now that sucks...

gplracer, you didn't happen to get a rain check did you? I got the rain check for $129. I guess I will drop by the store to see if they have any in stock.

i went to my local compusa @10:30 and they were sold out, but they did sell me a 8x4x32 for $99 and then took the 30 mail in rebate off the price too!!
Must have been cause I b!tched about iomega not honoring the mail in rebate, so out comes the manager and says just give it to him, the rebate! Can't complain there!!

so not a bad deal on my end, $70 bucks and I am happy

I called yesterday to complain about my order being back ordered when it showed in stock on their web page at 12:20am. They tried to tell me that because it was the weekend, their web page was not updated. After pointing out that their webpage WAS updated twice on Sunday (once to lower the price and once to change the "ships in 24 hours" to "N/A&quot and being put on hold by FIVE customer dis-service reps, I finally reached one that told me 1) I will not have to pay shipping since they were not able to ship in 2-days, the shipping I paid for, and 2) CompUSA would compensate me for the mail-in rebate instead. I made him tell me 3 times "yes sir, your final price will be $99 shipped" then got his full name and extension number.

It made me feel a little better about buying online instead of driving the 100 miles to the nearest B&M. It will be interesting to see if (and when) they come through.

If any of you people were fortunate to get yours Pre-Paid at a CompUSA B&M in Southern California, I would call the store and check.

Some stores JUST received a shipment today.

I was at the store in Industry, CA. and they had a couple on shelves at the $279. I immediately called the CompUSA in Burbank where I Pre-Paid my ZipCD 12/10/32 Saturday. They just received 28 and ALL were going to Pre-Paid customers (there were 79 who pre-paid at the Burbank store).

What's funny is that employee that I talked to didn't even know that they came in. She found out that they were under lock and key.

Anybody know about back orders? I had a buddy put his name on the list in FL but I don't know if that was a raincheck or not. I guess I'll have to e-mail this thread to him.

I'm so tired of rebates especially if I have to send it to that place in Chapell Texas that a lot of places use for rebates. They are very good at losing your mail-in documentation.
