Got a confirmation this morning from CompUSA (just got back from classes, or I would have posted earlier) that my drive shipped! Order WB50131, FYI. Keep hope alive, guys. Looks like it's happening after all.

damn it, my order # is wb49443 placed on 12:20:48 AM Sunday and it still says backordered. The bastards at Com-Puke-SA still have not shipped mine yet. Why???

Received shipment today around 12:00 central. The drive is not shipped with a rebate form as speculated in previous posts. We will have to download rebate form. My order number was wb49880.

My order #WB510xx hasn't shipped yet. Order date and time according to confirmation e-mail is 12/31/2000 11:50:03 AM. I am in Central time zone, North Alabama, and I think that the CompUSA CSR that I spoke to said that my drive would ship from Texas. The same CSR told me that I was 1 of 27 (as of like a week ago) that was on back-order for the drive, so they probably didn't know what they were talking about.

I got mine today Now, my only problem is, i don't have the $30 rebate form. I can't get through to iomega web site, i think its messed up. So, is anybody kind enough to mail me the form? TIA!!!

It is now day 26, and I am still waiting for this drive.

I received the last Email stating the drive is comming on the 23rd, the funny thing is I paid extra for shipping so it should have come to me in two days...

Not here yet.

I have gone through some major stress for this drive.

Around a week ago I went to both stores in Manhattan because their online system said they had limited quantities. The 37th street store gave me a raincheck and offered to sell me the Velo for $200, I kept the raincheck but said no to the Velo.

I then went to the 57th street store they had one unit but wouldn't give it to me since I didn't have the raincheck made out for that store. I showed them my emails too. No go. So I waited.

Now I supposedly have been sent the drive but when I called CS they said "Fedex hasn't even got it out of their main site yet." Which means I am paying extra for nothing. The CS offered to cut the S&H by half, I ask to speak with a manager, he promptly said a manager would call me back and hung up. (I did not get his name.)

I am still waiting for the call.

I have sent out an Email with all these details, to the CS and ordering dept. (Tried sending it to the CEO but name doesn't match with the Email.) I would like to send an email to their CEO and or head manager, If anyone has this info. please contact me.

I am seriously considering having my credit card agency dispute the shipping and handling charges if they do not remove them since they are already over the date promised.

I am also bringing these charges against them with the BBB:

1. Using bait and switch tactics. (Oh yeah we sold out of that model but we will sell you a 12x/8x/32x for the same price...)

2. Unfair buisness practices regarding shipping prices and handling. They do not follow their own advertised statements regarding how merchandise will be shipped out.

3. Mishandling of credit information.
Charging a client for something which hasn't been sent to the client, although they clearly state no charges will be applied unless order is fulfilled.

For those of you that may disagree consider the following -

1. If you are a buisness and decide to put on a sale, you should clearly state the days when the sale will end. Including online rules and regulations regarding when orders over the system will not be taken.

2. If you can not fullfill all orders from that sale date, you should either cancel the orders or give an approximate date when the order will be filled.

3. If you can not fullfill the demand immediately and wish to keep your customers happy, you should either absorb the shipping and handling fees or send an email stating that all orders will be shipped with the least shipping and handling fee. Therefore all shipping will take longer.

4. Online system should match with your inventory to avoid misinforming your consumers.

5. Your reps. should be a little bit more polite and not so bloody obtuse. (Stonger language is appropriate but I am holding it back since this a public forum.)

I ordered 2 of these drives and I only received one! They only billed me for 1 but when I got the order shipped notice it said quantity of 2.

They must be limiting 1 drive per customer. I really would have like to have 2... one for me and one for the "other half".

I also got only 1 of the 2 drives I ordered, so I called Compusa to see what was up. They told me they are shipping 1 drive to each person who ordered before they go back to fill multiple orders ("if they have stock&quot. No guesses as to when that would be.

They billed me for only 1 drive, but the shipping charge for the 1 was the same as they indicated in their invoice would be for 2 ($8.50). I asked if I would get popped for an additional $8.50 (plus tax) when they shipped the second drive and was told no, that my total billing should be the same as on the invoice.

We'll see...

Hmmm... I wouldn't hold your breath for the 2nd one as I will not be. I could have sworn that my shipping was less than 5 bucks. Why was yours 8?

My order #WB49466 (12:28am central, 12/31) is still backordered. That is what they said when I called them two days ago, and on the web now. They still maintain that they will be shipping, and that they will include a rebate form that they will still honor if shipped late.

Why are they shipping the higher order numbers first? I just don't understand this... they even said they are shipping the first ordered first. They did say 3-4 weeks delay in their email... I am giving them this much time. I want the drive!!

I do not blame you about calling the BBB but you will not have much luck. The BBB has no teeth. They can not make them do anything at all. They simply have no power.

With all the problem getting drives, at least it looks like Iomega or whoever is handling their rebates have their act together. I just got my $30 rebate check, 22 days after I put the rebate request in the mail...three weeks has to be a record these days on a rebate! For those of you waiting, it is worth the wait. It is one sweet drive...fast and not one coaster yet and I am using free 8x cdr's.
