I checked my order today, and it had changed status from "Back Ordered" to "Processing". Boy was I happy!

Then, I got an email saying that my order was back ordered. If I would like to cancel it, blahblhahblah...

So I checked my status. It had changed from "Processing" to "Back Ordered".

There is no emoticon to express what I am feeling.

I just checked my order and it changed from back order to processing. I ordered mine on 12/31/2000 at 10:45 AM, order # WB507xx

I got home from work tonight and checked my order status as I do every night. It finally changed from "backordered" to "processing". Then 15 minutes later I got an e-mail saying "your order is backordered. If you want to cancel......" I went back to their web site to check my order status again and it has changed from "processing" back to "backordered" This is the same experience as Lint21 described in a post earlier today. It's hard to tell what is going on. Guess it's time to call them.

Not that I believe anything that CompUSA tells me anymore, but I called them yesterday and was told that my drive would ship on Wednesday. They even confirmed that they meant tomorrow and not some other Wednesday when I asked.

I had called today to ask why my order wasn't shipped. They said the product is backordered and have to wait for next shipment. Apparently lot of the compusa CSR's just plain f**kin lied about shipping my drive. I hate compusa.

How long does it take for your drives to arrive after "shipped" confirmation email?
Mine says: "shipped" 1/25/01
Expected arrival: 1/5/01
Is this normal?

I bought stuffs at buy.com and received 3 days later.
Fedex slower than UPS?

I just checked my order status now shows "Processing" I order at 8:53am Pacific Time 1/31

Stupid Fedex LOST my drive, it was delivered last Friday, just wasn't to my house and now they don't know where it is. What a bunch of incompetent punks...grrrr.

Yay, my order is finally processing ... Here's hoping my drive gets here soon! (Order 506xx, orders at around 10am EST).

they promised me i'd have it monday latest (2 days ago.) I didn't believe them, but this is still disappointing.

The reason the tracking info is all screwed up is they used old (duplicate) tracking numbers. It may show part of the tracking info from a previous ordered that was shipped to someone else as well as part of your actual order.

In case the people who ordered their drives on 12-31-00 don't know, the email we rec'd said the rebates would still be honored, what Compusa meant by that was Compusa will issue a $30 credit back to your credit card.. How do I know this, because I already had this done! I think you can figure out the rest from here. For those of us that placed our order on the 31st, looks like we get double the pleasure!

So CompUSA already gave u back $30 on your credit card? Did you have to call them to do this or is it automatic? Mine's still not here though...

potatobbq, I called when I first got the email and ask what it meant. He then explained if I didn't get my drive in time to mail in the rebate, he would issue a credit to my card. I got my shipping notice on the 25th and called him back and told him there was NO WAY Iomega would RECEIVE my form by the 31st (as the form stated) because I didn't even have my drive yet. He said no problem and issued the credit right there. I called him again today as I still haven't rec'd my drive and asked him again if he issued the credit. Once again he said he did but it could take up to 10 days for it to show on my credit card.

If your drive hasn't been shipped yet, I don't think I would call about the credit just yet. Wait until it ships before you call and tell them there's no way you can send in your rebate since the form is expired. You never know if they will somehow tamper with or black out the UPC so you can't mail in a rebate.

Still shown as backordered and I called them today and was told that order would ship out this Wednesday or next week. Interestingly enough I checked my discover card as was charged on the 1/27. Hopefully my drive is on its way. Now I have to call them back and try and get them to credit my credit card $30 because there is no way I can get the rebate in by 1/31.

No, I called when I rec'd the email saying all rebates would be honored to clarify that Compusa was the company (not Iomega) that would honor the rebate. In other words, if our rebate form expires, Compusa will just issue a credit back to us. He said yes.

Then, on the 25th when I got my shipping notice, I called and spoke to the same person (made sure I got his name and direct ext from previous call) and told him my rebate form said Iomega had to receive the rebate form by 1-31-01 and that was impossible as Compusa just shipped my drive. He said no problem and issued me a $30 credit.

Today I called him again because I still haven't rec'd my drive and I wanted to verify with him whether he had issued my credit and he said yes, I did it on the 25th but it may take up to 10 days for it to show on my credit card.
