I am building a computer to connect to my 32" Bravia, it will be used for music, streaming video (tv shows/ netflix), burning dvds, surfing etc. Little or no gaming. I would like it small, quiet, and relatively inexpensive, with usb ports in the front for IPODS/ cameras etc. and more in the back. I would like the option of running a seperate monitor nearby for more up close work (typing), my bravia accepts VGA and HDMI although I've heard HDMI can be kind of problematic. This is what I have so far, keep in mind that although I've had some help from a younger brother, I've never done this before. (these parts descriptions are copied right off of newegg)

Cheaper and easier to just get an intel-based Dell (a q6600 would stomp any AMD processor), especially after you factor in an OS.

1. Raidmax is poor. Get the Corsair 400W, any of the Corsairs will be plenty of quality power.

2. That's a good case for a nice price

3. If you need surround LCPM (lossless audio) over HDMI, 8200 is what you want. Otherwise, get the 780g because it's better in everything except the support for surround LCPM

4. In a microATX case, I'd use the BE-2400, which is only 45W but even 65W shouldn't be a problem and the price difference right now isn't worth it.

6. Your ram is going to run at 800mhz so no point in getting 1066 unless you are going to overclock, in which case it'd be better to get a black edition CPU or just switch to intel
So get any 2x2gb 800 kit

7. Get a newer 640GB drive because they are better and price difference is minimal

8. Yes, get any SATA dvd burner from newegg with decent ratings (should be ~$25)

12.Vista is easier if you want media center. Otherwise, you could get XP Media Center edition.

Your system will likely be ~$600 with the OS. Needless to say, a Dell would be cheaper and faster. However, if you have cash to blow and want to build a PC then go for it.

Looks good, change the Seagate 640GB for the Western Digital 640GB. Someone else can advise you on an AM2 cooler.

You've selected a retail boxed CPU - it comes with heatsink/fan and thermal interface material (TIM), as listed by newegg in the specification section.

Just buy a Dell.
Dell systems have far less "My PC won't..." threads here.

Yup, go with WD for HD and no need for a separate heatsink as the included one in the retail box should be enough even for modest overclocks. And looking at your needs, there shouldn't be any need for crazy overclocks that would require a better heatsink.
