Computer Died Last Night

I was using my computer last night at home and all of the sudden it shut down by itself. I tried to restart it, but the power button did not cause the power to come back on. There was no response. I checked the power connections, but it seems as if no power is coming into the computer (red mouse light is off; no fan, CPU, nothing). Everything else that's plugged into the same power strip/surge protector is getting power.

Is my computer dead? I'm assuming this is either a power supply issue or a motherboard problem. What steps can I take to troubleshoot this problem?

System specs:
AMD Ahlon XP 2000+ processor
Asus A7V333 Motherboard
Antec 430W Power Supply (only 2 months old)
512MB PC2700 Samsung RAM
GeForce TI4400 by PNY
80GB Western Digital Hard Drive
CDRW, DVD, floppy drives

Plug a known working power supply into the motherboard and try turning on the computer then. If the computer boots, the power supply is the culprit. If the computer doesn't boot, it could be the motherboard but not necessarily. Further testing would determine which component is at fault.

It is either the power supply or the motherboard. No other component would be at fault.

Not the cpu mobo would turn on
not the graphics card ditto
not the hard drive ditto
not the memory ditto

so check the ps. It is probably the issue there.

might try resetting the ps. just flip the power switch in the power supply off then unplug it from the wall. Plug it back in and switch it on. Power up the machine.

Has worked for me in the past.
