Running DFI nF3, 3400 claw, and OCZ Platinum Rev.2. I was overclocking my HTT, using the Isolate and Consolidate method Zebo prescribes. Got the HTT up to (a seemily amazing, to me anyway, the CPU multi was at 5 or something) 435, then the computer failed to boot. So I reset the cmos, but still no boot. I am confused, possibly fvcked, I don't know. Please help me.

visually inspect your mobo and chip; you could have fried something! ?
Do you hit the power switch and nothing?
you said you reset your cmos settings.... (by pulling the batt??) or can you get into your BIOS settings?

Never makes it to the BIOS, just loop reboots. I reset the CMOS multiple times, and also tried taking the battery out for 15 minutes. Nothing seems to work, just continues to loop reboot.

while you were making these massive adjustments, were you checking your voltages and temperatures?

Well I didn't check the actual temperature, but I felt the heatsink with my hand during this time and it was warm, but not hot. I had the voltage at 1.9v.

your crazy fsb might have scrambled the bios chip, or the HDD/vid card if agp/pci lock didnt hold
i would see if i could reflash the bios from floppy, even if done blind just by watching light each time you type and enter
or try another hdd with an o/s already on it.
Asus will sell yoiu replacement bios chip for ~ $15 (maybe free if you cry)
sometimes, one must short cmos, unplug psu and leave for 24 hours, install cheap crap ram that SPD detects at easy to run high level timings, perhaps install even a $20 SIS pci vidcard (vga) - replug, unshort cmos, boot to bios, immediately set failsafe defaults

your 1.9v isnt too swift either, while you cant hurt the cpu, you can hurt the mobo

and you didnt say in rig which 3400 claw you have
if you are gonna play around like that, you really need a dfi mobo

since you didnt get too many answers, i threw out a bunch of stuff here.

Anyways I got it fixed. Apparently when I went to reset the BIOS I forgot to put the jumper back to the "normal" mode. All my problems end up being stupid sh!t. Oh well. Sorry to waste everyones time, LOL.

3400+ IS PLENTY FAST, WHY DO YOU WANT MORE? 200MHZ WILL GIVE YOU SOMTHING LIKE AN EXTRA 5 FPS IN DOOM3, IT'S NOT WORTH FRYING YOUR HARDWARE. FOR PETES SAKE YOU HAVE A BRAND NEW COMPUTER THAT 75% OF THE ANANDTECH READERS WOULD LOVE TO OWN. BE HAPPY WITH WHAT YOU HAVE.

IT REMINDS ME OF HOW PERFECTLY NORMAL LOOKING PEOPLE FEEL THE NEED FOR PLASTIC SURGERY, WHEN THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE WAY THEY LOOK. MY POINT IS THERE IS NO NEED FOR IT.

I wouldn't leave the voltage at 1.9v unless you want to fry your chip..thats a bit too high for air cooling.
