Question Computer freezes thinking it's my gpu

Hello, my computer freezes while playing games, the screen will freeze up and no inputs work I have to hard restart.I do not get a blue screen and the sound will freeze as well and repeat itself. I thought it was my PSU (rm750) but I installed my old one (cx650) which I know is good and I still have the same problem. I did a memtest on both rams sticks and they both passed. All bios setting are default except I have enabled ReBar. I installed all updates from the motherboard website and latest bios, windows updates and the latest gpu driver. I only have one minidump because I reinstalled windows 10 a few days ago. I have hwmonitor and all temps look good Iam running an aida64 stability test for gpu only for 3.5 hours now and no crashes, max temp on gpu was 81c hotspot. I'm guessing its my GPU but I am not sure.

They are all default and have been for a while, still had freezes. I checked all the cables they are good.
I dont have my rx6600 right now its at the store being tested, I should know the results of their testing by friday.

You checked everything that was possible.

It does sound like the card is the issue. But just to confirm, have you stress tested the CPU? If so, with what? I just wanted to make sure this was tested as well.

Yes I have tested the whole system with aida 64 cpu, fpu, cache, system memory and gpu test all at once for 4 hours no issues. Also ran unigine superposition and the aida64 cpu for 4 hours.

I got my card back from the store testing and they didn't find any hardware issues and they think it's a driver issue. Im going to try some older drivers and see if that stop the freezing.

I installed older drivers and had no crashes but then widows went and installed new drivers on its own how do I stop windows from auto updating just my video card drivers?

Block windows update with a group policy or a reg hack. I do this and also block it through DNS via pihole and then check periodically for patches that are relevant. Windows / MSFT has a habit of using obsolete versions of things. I repeatedly have to reinstall updated versions of Intel drivers that WU decides using an older version is better for some reason.

I looked up group policy and it says my version of windows 10 home doesn't include it.
Do you have a guide to do the reg hack?

My windows 10 home version does not include group policy

I will try the hack if windows installs new drivers again, I have since reinstalled the older driver from june 2022 and I have no issues for 2 days now. I usually got 2-3 crashes a day.
