Computer freezes when browsing net

Athlon 1GHZ Asus A7V
Winglobal Fop 32-1 Cooler
128MB PC100
Creative Geforce 2 GTS
Creative SBLive! Value
Network card
Modem

Anytime I browse the net...if I happen to do a lot of stuff with the net at the same time, like browse through a webpage really fast, or maybe go checkout some flash site with a lot happening, the comp freezes. I'm able to move the mouse but can't click on anything. Any help on why this is happening?

Sounds like a videocard issue. What drivers are you using? Have you tried the Nvidia Detonator Reference drivers?

I had the same problem but with a different Video card.
the problem was the Vid card.
it was a Banshee.
the regular Monster fusion drivers kept locking me up.
changed to voodoo drivers and worked fine.

So i believe it has something to do with your Vid card Drivers.

Yeah I'm running the latest nVidia Detonator 3 video drivers...any other ideas?

have you installed a newer version of netscape on top of and older
version I had same type of problems after doing that uninstalled
netscape an reinstalled newer version no more problems

What browser are you using? hehehehe, you're missing an important part of the puzzle!! Also, how much hard drive space is free? Do you clean out your temp internet files?

I had this same problem with my girlfriend's computer. She's using an Epox EP-8kta+. Flashing the bios took the problem down to a minimum. Now it only freezes when on the net maybe once a week after heavy use. Try it.

I'm not sure if this problem's dependent on browsing the net anymore. It happens with both netscape and ie, but I've noticed that the comp will freeze at other times as well. My friends says it could be a conflict with my sound and video cards sharing the same irq...anyone know how to fix this?

I have the same problem with a Geforce Prophet 3D. I burned it.

I had this problem. Flashing the bios for my Epox mobo fixed it.

Someone mind explaining flashing the bios to me and maybe how I can do it?
