Computer hardware problem. Sometimes no post/bluescreen

So I have an intermittent computer problem which is hard to repeat, so I was hoping that I'd explain what my computer is doing and hopefully it'll raise some red flags about what particular piece of hardware is having issues here.

I brought my computer to my parents house for Christmas break and as soon as I got home, the problem started. I plugged everything in, and the computer wouldn't post. I pressed the power button on the case, the fans spun up, but no display. I hard stopped it and tried again. Same story.

This happened a few times and I opened my case and moved my graphics card to a different slot to see if possibly the slot on my motherboard had gone bad and I just wasn't getting display from that. It booted this time. Curious, I moved it back to its old spot, it booted again. Thinking it had rattled out of place somehow on the way, I thought my problems were over. I put everything back together and booted into windows, no problem, even played a few games. I ran chkdsk and it found no bad sectors and no corrupt data.

Two days passed and the computer still worked fine, then I woke up on Monday and started it and it wouldn't post again. Again I hard stopped it and pressed the button again, and it booted this time, no moving of graphics card required. It was a bit sluggish to boot but it did and I logged in, and about 5 minutes into loading on my desktop, I got a bluescreen: Code "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA ***STOP: 0x0000050 (0xFFFFF8A235BC8EF8, 0x000000000000000001, 0xFFFFF80003E0E627, 0x000000000000000005)"
This told me if it was the first time I'd seen it to just restart my computer and see if I got it again, so I tried again.

This time it booted normally, quickly too. Getting suspicious I began looking on the internet for what the code meant and after about an hour of searching, I decided to run Furmark to see if it was a power problem, the r9 280X by sapphire is a very power thirsty card after all. I ran the Furmark for about 10 minutes and decided to add a new level to it and opened up Prime95's blend test and immediately I got a different bluescreen : Code "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT *** STOP: 0x0000001A *0x000000000050003,0xFFFFF70001080000, 0x000000000000B45B, 0x00000000215BE049) "

I rebooted and ran Prime95's blend test and though my computer didn't bluescreen, the test immediately failed, suggesting there was a hardware problem. I thought this was a clear indication that my memory had started to fail so I got a copy of memtest86 and ran it for 36 hours, which was about 6 passes and got 0 errors. After this amount of time I began to think that it may just be a loose connection so I stopped the test, shut down, unplugged the machine, and unplugged and replugged every connection into and out of the motherboard.

That was last night. This morning I booted my computer and decided to do a timelapse video of a few hundred RAW files I took the other day, I opened up photoshop (Which has execution files on a different harddrive than the boot drive, a PNY 128 GB SSD) and started to load each of the 230 photos as layers with bridge, in the task manager I watched the memory usage rise to 70% when I suddenly got a third bluescreen: Code "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA *** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xFFFF9600006E174, 0x00000000000000008, 0xFFFFF9600006E174,0x00000000000000000)"

So here I am today, confused as heck, just trying to figure out where to start to try to troubleshoot this issue. Could anyone lend some advice? My specs are below if they help. Thank you so much for your time in advance.

Hmm, sounds like you are having a rough time. But failing Prime95 right off isn't a good sign.

How old is your PSU? Are you overclocked at all? If you are, reset the BIOS to defaults, so we can get a good baseline for testing. (Don't forget to re-set the boot drive, and SATA mode (AHCI / IDE / RAID) if your reset the BIOS.)

Have you re-seated your RAM already yet? That's what I would try next. Then try Prime95 Blend again. And keep an eye on your temps. How dusty is your CPU heatsink, and is the fan spinning?

Have you installed a program recently or made any changes recently? I'm wondering if it's your hard drive. You said you ran the test. What does smart data say for the hard drive? This is definitely a stumper.

Sounds like your WD Black might be failing to me.

I usually put those in all my PC's for storage even if they have a couple of SSD for OS.

Nothing is bullet proof, I think one of my old WD RE3's in my Areca Hardware RAID 10 is maybe failing these days out of the 4 of them.

For a first post, I seems you know a lot to begin with.

It is a little rough but I'm glad you all are here to help.

My PSU is only about a year and a half old. I did reset my BIOS to defaults to see if it was just the overclock. It was 1866 RAM that was running at 1600 and a 3100Mhz CPU running at 3900, so it wasn't super aggressive, but it failed again, so I just put it back at speed while I was doing memtest so it would A: Run faster and B: catch a possible problem at the speed I was running them.

When I was testing the RAM I did remove each stick and put them in again, so they are all reseated. My temps are good, CPU at idle is 14C, and under heavy load it's about 40C (I've got a really beefy CPU cooler that I just sucked all the dust off of before I came home). Hard drives are sitting around 30C. HD0: 32C, HD1: 30C, HD2: 26C, GPU idle: 36C. CPU load: 35C. (Also I should note that I ran Prime95 to get these numbers and it didn't fail immediately.)

The fans are all spinning, and they're as free from dust as I can get them.

So the only thing that I've really installed recently is the AMD Catalyst Crimson upgrade, but I did that back at home and had it installed for a few days before coming home and had no problems.

I ran chkdsk and I'll give the data from eventviewer here:

I felt that since there were no bad sectors, there was no need to pursue this any further, however I got your S.M.A.R.T. data in case it was useful and the data is here from CrystalDiskInfo 6.6.1:

It's kind of a mess to read, but hopefully you find it useful.
Each of the drives says that the health of the drive is good.

If it's failing it's doing a really great job of hiding it.

It's possible, but I guess I feel like it's unlikely because it fails to post on occasion. It's apparently the newest driver there is so far, so I'm unsure if that's what could cause it, ya know?

Were it my system, I'd swap the power supply given the tendency to fail to boot.

Well on a friend's advice, I refreshed the paging file and so far (It's intermittent so this means basically nothing) I haven't had a problem yet.

The PSU is relatively new, (about a year old) and it's Corsair. The only other PSU I have has suspect quality and probably wouldn't be a good one to test on. If I have additional problems I will try it anyway. What makes you think it's the PSU and not say, the memory?

Just because the power supply is relatively new doesn't mean it can't be in the process of developing a fault. Corsair power supplies (excepting their cheap entry level units) are generally above average in quality, but they can produce bad units just like everybody else.

A flaky power supply can cause of random and intermittent issues that mimic memory and even CPU errors due to voltage fluctuations.

If the problem recurs, I'd start by swapping the power supply simply because I need to know without a doubt that is functioning properly. It is, after all, the cornerstone of your system -- everything else you add to that system absolutely depends on it to be working properly.

I have a meter, is there any way I can test it to make sure?

You could really only measure voltage. If you have a standard molex connector, flip the meter to DC volts and connect the black prob to the black wire and the red prob to the yellow wire. You should read 12 volts. Of course the Comp needs to be on, otherwise you can take the MOBO connector and short the black and green wire to start the PSU.

You don't happen to have any local friends with PCs, do you? If so, you could try swapping parts one at a time - when they stert getting errors instead of you, you'll know you found the culprit. (They'd have to be a pretty good friend though!)

Those are things I should also be able to read in the BIOS though, right?

Unfortunately the one friend I had that I thought would do that with me flaked, so... with you all's help, we're gonna get it done.

You could, but I would rather use a meter just in case BIOS reports the wrong voltages. I mean would you trust a droid's voltage read out if it meant that 5 extra volts meant he became self-aware or not?

I mean, if it were analog, yeah.
