For a while now I have been having a problem where my 3d games would crash after playing them for a while...
I always thought it was because my video card was overheating. So, in an attempt to remedy the problem I popped open the case and pointed a house fan at the card. Even after doing this I still had problems.
So, I went to the Nvidia website for troubleshooting help and it mentioned how updating your BIOS can solve freezing problems.
So, I headed over to Gigabyte's website to upgrade my GA7DX motherboard's BIOS. After flashing my BIOS my problems only got worse. Now at any given point my computer will just crash and restart. And while the computer restarts it will go to a blue screen and have a long error about how the BIOS is not ACPI compliant.
I have tried reflashing my BIOS with the newest and several older BIOS versions for my motherboard without success. Can anyone help me? I'm going nuts trying to fix this annoying problem.
I have also tried swapping around the RAM in the machine to see if the RAM was bad but I don't think that is the problem.
My system is as follows:
Windows 2000
AMD 1800 XP processor
Gigabyte GA7DX motherboard
Geforce 3 TI 200 vid card
512mb PC 2100 RAM
Thank you so much for any help you can provide.
