Download and install Driver Cleaner. Uninstall the video card drivers. Reboot into safe mode, clean out all old drivers. Reinstall new drivers.

Run 3DMock aka 3DMark 2005 (or some other games demo) in a continous loop for about 6 hours. It's not a game but it'll do a decent job of heating up your video card and simulate game playing. If it runs fine for roughly 6 hours it should be sorta stable. Though I wouldn't say it was until you run it for about 24 hours. Try playing the games it was crashing on to see if it'll run without crashing.

The problem with it freezing or locking up while playing the game seems a heat issue. Although bad drivers could certainly play a part in it and you noticed the problem only after installing new drivers. Try to clean up any wiring within the case and check to make sure all fans (case, cpu, video card, motherboard) are all working.

Lots of reasons for the lockup problem. Try these fixes before checking for other possible sources of the problems.

Just like akugami-san said, it's likely an heat issue than driver. Although you can't ignore the driver part.

Yep from my experience lockups are usualy 1 heat issue if all runs well until extended usuage...take the side of the Case of and try it then think of ways to cool it better if alls well...

ok cool guys, i did all those tests and now im just gonna see if its the heat issue or some windows issue. when i run the internet it runs fine, just when i play some games, guess the ones that push the system iguess, it locks, so im gonna try to take the side door off and see what happens.
