I just bought a new video card and i've been having major issues
I have an MSI k8n neo-4 mobo with a amd64 3000+. I have a COOLMAX CX-450 ATX 450W Power Supply that I bought off newegg a couple years back. I just bought a new Radeon 1950XT to replace my old 6600GT. When i put the card in, my comp started for a second and then lost power. I couldn't get it to turn back on. I tried a new PSU, that didn't help. Returned the new PSU and bought a new mobo (same kind), that worked. Since then, every once in a while my computer will just shut off while it's running. The power button will be non responsive and I usually have to unplug the computer, flip the PSU power switch, wait a couple seconds, and then turn it back on.
What do you think the problem is? Is my video card defective? is my PSU unable to handle the stress? something else? Is there any good way to test what's happening?
