Computer rebooting repeatedly, need suggestions

I recently built a new computer with the following components:

GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3 AM2+/AM2 AMD 770
Phenom II 720 BE
XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler
OCZ Memory

Last night when I turned on my computer it began to reboot several times (for approximately 10 minutes) before it successfully turned on. There are not monitor signals, but I know it is rebooting because of the lights flashing inside of the computer and the noise of the fans.

I had a similar problem with this machine when I first built it, but the problem went away when I upgraded the BIOS to support the PHENOM II. Now the problem has seemingly arisen out of the blue.

I have not had much time to trouble shoot this yet, but I have tried to unplug all of the hard drives and exchange the memory down to one module of a different type. No results yet, so I don't believe it has anything to do with memory or power problems.

My only suspicion at this point is that there is a short somewhere. But I'm not sure that would explain why it successfully boots up eventually.

Any thoughts or feedback are welcome. My plan as of now is to re-mount this evening, but I don't know if that is getting to the core of the problem.

maybe the power supply. Kinda like the short, I am not sure why it would all of sudden start to work, but electronics are weird like that.

I've got a new 480 watt power supply in there, but maybe you're right, I'll try throwing in a 430 watt I've got laying around.

I'm not sure if that's enough power though for my ATI 4850 + phenom 2 + 3 hard drives.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try throwing in a simple vid card and removing some hard drives with the 430.

I don't think you will have a problem with the 430 and all your stuff for testing purposes.
