You must only have games that save to one spot because most don't stay in the steamapps folder. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9629139
True, I'd grab both, but I'm just sayin some saves go there..That wasn't my point. My point is the other poster is setting sail for fail if he thinks a copy of the user profiles is all that's needed to set up a new machine.
That thinking is why I am successful in what I do usually taking on machines dicked up by kids.
This thread is about how easy it is to transfer the OP's girlfriend's save games to her new computer.True, I'd grab both, but I'm just sayin some saves go there..
What was this thread about again? lol
I charge $40 flatrate for malware cleans (takes me about 2+ hours) and $50 for an OS reinstall. Yea, its very low compared to the going rate, but it is a side job. I don't advertise at all, I work on co-worker's PC exclusively.
I thought about advertising via CL with a bit higher rates, but I'm afraid it would burn me out in a few months time as well. Doing 2 PCs over a weekend kills any free time for family or PC gaming time that I'd had before doing this.
Charging $30 for 2 hours of skilled labor is a joke, don't sell yourself short.
$75 is fair for that, which would be probably a couple hundred less than geeksquad, who not only charges stratospheric prices, but also nickels and dimes every step of the way (separate charges for the OS install, application install, etc).
That said, she looks young (not wealthy?), and I try to adapt my charges based on my client's ability to pay. I have clients that make 7 figures or more, and I charge them fair industry standard rates for outstanding service. I also make the same services available for much less to those in need who are paycheck-to-paycheck types. I find that in general, this is very helpful, and people tend to return favors enough of the time to make it worthwhile.
How is reformatting your computer skilled labor?
$20; you didnt even turn a screw.
