think this came about one or two days ago. While doing simple tasks as reading internet explorer, my computer would, at random times, stutter. This is evident by my mouse because it moves across the screen with lag, and pause and stutter. If I have winamp open during the stutter, pop, tsks and cracks would come out.
This is a newly developed problem. I haven't installed anything major nor did I update drivers. What do you guys think? Also I think my powersupply is making weird sounds. I don't know if that can be the problem.
Some more helpful info I have a comp over 1ghz so that's not the problem.
I don't have a shortage of harddrive space. I did scan disk and fix any errors.
It's just at random times, my HD light would go solid and my computer would stutter. What can this be?
Someone told me to defrag, but I was thinking even if my comp is that clogged, viewing webpages which are in memory shouldn't cause 2 second stutter.
Also, when I ran a virus checker which took about 10 minutes, and in that time my computer didn't stutter or as noticeable as when I am just browsing the web.
