This system was new as of Christmas '05 and was working until just recently. It will not turn on and no fans will turn on. The only thing that seems to work is the LED towards the bottom of the motherboard that is on. I just got the RMA from the motherboard and the replacement board does the same thing. The power supply was tested to work fine. Please comment with any other suggested tests. I appologize if this has been posted before but I'm very fed up with this problem and would be happy to look at a thread if you would link it.

Did you make sure that all the components are installed and seated properly, also that all the cables are seated properly.
Do you get any beep sounds?

It was all previously working, but would not turn back on after it was turned off about 2 weeks ago now. Nothing at all happens when I attempt to turn it on. Everythign has been double checked to make sure it is connected securly.

Thanks SoundGuy, tried to reset the RTC RAM/CMOS, but that did not work. I have nowhere to find a spare CPU or video card. This is the only computer I have and I dare not touch my fathers for more than typing.

Just a quick shot in the dark: Is your "power on" switch faulty or broken? Maybe it's a stupid thought but it's always the simplest things we overlook.

Nope, tested the continuity of it and it is fine, also have tried jumping it. Thats the 1 thing my father wanted to test. Ive had the PSU tested and that was fine a week ago, and i just got a replacement motherboard today that should have worked, now I fear that it might be my video card. What do you think?

God, I don't know. But If the video card was broken your PC should start and boot up normally, but you would not see any thing on the monitor.
Are u using the same processor and ram on the new motherboard and were u overclocking them on the old one? If you were overclocking you might have caused perment damage to either. And also it's important that u don't mix and match different sticks of ram.

I'm at such a loss for ideas it isn't even funny. I wasn't overclocking and both sticks are the same, the people at Asus last week said that problem could ONLY be the PSU or the motherboard. I think that I need to call them again.

I feel your pain. Without a 2nd PC to test your ram, processor and cards it's going to very hard find the cause, beg, borrow or steel 1. If I think of anything new I'll post it.

Thanks for the help, when I ship off to college I'm DEFINATLY going with a laptop, then I can throw the whole thing back at the manufacturer with an extended warrenty.

Glad to hear you found some sort of a solution. I agree with you on the extended warrenty, if it breaks they fix it. My PC is a self build and it turns out to be more trouble than it's worth, there is always something wrong with it.
