Hey guys,
I'm currently having some serious issues with my computer at the moment. The other day i broke my gfx card and i've now got a new one. I replaced the gfx card and now my computer won't evn boot.
I get 1 long beep and 2 quick beeps after it. I've taken out everything in my computer and put it back in and i'm still getting those beeps.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Parts:
DFI lanparty UT NF3 Mobo
AMD Athlon 3400+
1Gb Ram
Previous gfx card - Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb
Current gfx card - Radeon 9600 Pro 128/256mb (unsure)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys

Your manual should tell you what those 1 long and 2 quick beeps mean. Did you look it up ? You should hae installed your cpu, 1 stick of ram and a HD, then try to boot it up. No beeps ? Then add the videocard, if it starts beeping, it's the videocard. Have to eliminate all components one by one, perhaps 1 stick of ram went bad ?

Nope, the manual doesn't say anything.
I took everything out and put it in one by one, testing it everytime. And everytime i get the same beeps.
I only had one stick of ram in there, cpu and hd connected and i get the same beep. Then i add the gfx card and still, i get the same beep.

I've tried both ram sticks and the same beeps occur everytime.

Any advice guys?
Thanks

I suggest you look here mate: http://us.dfi.com.tw/Support/s...&INDEX_TYPE=MB&SITE=US

Those beeps means something, but I could only guess what it is. Does DFI has a AWARD Bios ? A quick google found the following: http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm which says: 1 long, 2 short: Video adapter error. Either video adapter is bad or is not seated properly. Also, check to ensure the monitor cable is connected properly. Good luck. Perhaps the previous card wasn't bad, but the AGP ??? slot is damaged ?

Yea, well i've tried everything now and nothing is working. If my AGP slot is damaged how can i fix it?

Are there any other ways of getting around this?

You can try an old PCI video card and it should give you video. The other thing to check is the mobo. It could be fubar. And the only way to find out is to check your video card on a known working system. It's probably time to replace the mobo.
