Hey, I built this system in Nov '06 and everything has been stable till now. Specs are:
ASUS P5B-Deluxe
E6400
Crucial Ballitx ddr2-667 1gb x2
EVGA 8800GTS (recently new)
Corsair HX-510W PSU

For about 4 months the E6400 was oc'd to 3.2 then I dropped it down to 2.8 and left it there. The ram is newer then the system to and has ran to spec.

When I turn it on all fins spin up (including cpu fan), and it sounds like the hard drives spin up. But monitor continuously says no video signal so I can't get into bios. I've tried pulling the cmos, and reseating the video card. Also, I pulled gig of ram from 2nd slot and booted it up and this time lights came on my usb kb/mouse. I'll put 1 gig of ram in any slot but the 2nd and the lights will come on the usb kb/mouse. Odd, no?

It's hooked up to one of those big usp/battery things so I can't believe it would
of gotten zapped.

I don't know anyone who has any compatible parts I can start testing either

Any ideas?

First off - make sure your PC speaker is hooked up/enabled. I typically never do it but if you're having post issues prior to getting anything in video most motherboards will have a beep/audio sequence to alert of a critical error.

When you say you pulled the cmos - do you mean you pulled out the chip or pulled out the battery? The safest way to clear the cmos is the jump setting. Basically turn everything off - set the jumper to reset then set back to normal and turn everything back on. Some MB's require you to power on shortly while the jumper is in reset - just follow what your manual says.

I pulled the battery out. I'll pull the manual out and look for the jumper.

edit: Ok, I cleared it by the jump setting. Don't think it was an overclock crash though because in the manual it also said that the mobo does it itself on reboot if the overclock crashed or something. Same symptoms - everything powers on including usb lights if I only have 1 stick of ram in there but no video signal.

I am still looking for the speaker wire for my case but I can't find it in my P180. Wires were done a little intricately. I will have to really dig in it.

The ami beep chart on the p5b-d only has 3 options heh. Mine is hardware failure woot.. doesn't tell me much. I don't know why a system would be so stable then do this. I think it's my video card and maybe a stick of ram went out too.
