I am not sure what to try next. I have had this computer running 24/7 for 4 years now and it has been great. I built a new one earlier this year, so this is for my wife and kids. For the last 6 months or so, every once in a while when I turned off the computer, it would not turn back on. When you hit the power button, the power light would come on in the front for about 1 sec, then turn off, and then there would be nothing, no fans, nothing. Usually, turning off the surge for a few minutes, then back on, would fix it, so I replaced the strip, didnt help. I couldnt reproduce the effect when I want, so it was impossible to troubleshoot. 2 weeks ago, it powered off in the middle of running, and would turn back on. I tried for a couple of days, nothing. I figured the psu was bad, so I ordered a new Thermaltake Purepower 420, put it in, still nothing. Then 2 days later, my son hit the power button, and it turned on. Now I am not sure what to try next. I dont want to spend alot of money as this is just for the kids (3 and under), so not much is needed. I am just wondering if anybody has an idea where to start. I figure the MB is a good choice, but without a replacement, and without being able to reproduce the problem, that is hard to figure out.
TIA
