Because MSAA has a very low performance hit in this game. When I had the demo installed, I could run at 4K maxed settings with 8x MSAA and still get a perfect 60 FPS lock. I couldn't go any higher than 60 FPS though because the 60 FPS lock was hard locked. I hear that a newer demo build removed the FPS cap altogether.

This is anecdotal evidence.

I'd need something a little more quantitative to believe MSAA no longer has a bigger hit on AMD hardware. It's not that I don't believe you, things can change, but you gotta prove it. Something like this from the original source but with newer software showing different results:

The above results seem pretty representative of the proportions MSAA tanks Vega across many games. And most benchmarks I've seen run at X8. I'm not crying about how unfair it all is; I'm just saying (again) how stupid it is to look at single results and think you know everything.

So the above pclab results with AMD spanking nV could be legit, I haven't seen much with low/no MSAA to compare them too...

Whether a game has a serious impact from MSAA depends on what kind of renderer it's using. I've read that deferred renderers, which most engines use these days take enormous hits when using MSAA. However, other types of rendering styles may not have much of a hit from MSAA at all. I suppose the Forza series is the latter. If it uses a forward plus renderer or some kind of hybrid renderer, then it's conceivable that MSAA wouldn't be much of a hit.

Here is another Forza 7 test from benchmark.pl, showing a nice normal order of GPUs with the new driver even @1080p, unlike PCLab weird results that had RX 580 = 1080Ti! PCLab clearly tested with the wrong driver.

Its why I've always said no one should jump the gun on freshly released titles with odd looking benches. Nvidia are often quick to release driver updates that usually fix odd anomalies. Same goes for AMD though things may stretch out with the 'fine wine' approach.
