Yup, 100% AMD's fault that Project CARS didn't include Day 1 "AMD 6.0" magic source code, which added almost 60% more performance to a GTX970 and nearly 80% to HD7950. Wish all games had these Day 1 AMD magic sauce source code added to boost graphics card performance. As per usual, your brand bias has permanently distorted your judgement and ability to analyze and think critically and objectively.

Pretty poor showing here by the rest of you. 16 pages and 400 posts of arguing about this game, and only one person actually owns the game and can give an opinion on whether the game itself is any good or not?

That's is pretty much what the forum has turned into the last few years and it has me posting less because of it, the mods have a tough job with the current crowd here now.

After I reinstalled I tried a few maps and I can feel the improvement in speed will have to do a fraps run evenually to check the numbers.

When I made a similar observation I was told "This is Video Cards and Graphics, if you want to talk about how fun games are go to PC Gaming."

So, basically admitting that these type of threads only exist to parrot agendas and what not.

And you should stay out of the Ark thread if you think this thread is bad. Woof.

The game is really fun if you like semi-simulation type racing games. I didn't comment before because I haven't played since the performance-enhancing patches or whatever happened with the game. I've just been too busy to play anything right now, haven't even tried out JC3 yet! But it is a very fun game nonetheless, I think it would be even more fun with a surround/eyefinity setup. Be sure you have a controller or wheel setup that works well, my PS3 controller had some issues with the vibration feedback so I had to turn it off. They may have fixed that though, I just left it off.

I bought it on STEAM sale recently and had the chance to play a little. I bought this game to scratch my occasional racing itch, and it will do that well. The game was maxed out at 1440p and performed well, around 90FPS or more I can't remember now.
Using the helmet view cam in a formula car is a lot of fun. I was really surprised how well they represented realistic suspension and handling. The car bounces in a realistic way and the sound of the tires on the street seems very realistic. Its a good racing game.
If for some reason you guys want an actual FRAPS run done, tell me what track and settings and all that. I'll go ahead and do it.

It's the video card section.... What else can we talk about but performance the game. Of course if a game has crappie performance on a wide selection of cards it will be torn apart in this section.

This shouldn't be a surprise.

I'd equate Project Cars to a pig wearing lipstick and a pretty dress.

Does the game look good? Sure, it's gorgeous in my opinion--if you had the (right) hardware to brute force a decent level of framerate out of it. The performance has definitely improved with patches (390 user here), but it is still a filthy mess underneath the covers.

If your interest in playing a "simcade" racing game goes no further than running your favorite tracks in an awesome car with high visual fidelity, you'll be happy--especially at a discounted price. The instant you try to take this game more seriously (as its developers would want you to) and you'll see just how awful the software truly is. One trip to the game's official forum would show you the technical support is the most frequented subforum. Ironic, considering they have a habit of banning users who make complaints about the game's issues.

With all that being said I still enjoy Project Cars, pretty pig or not.
